Cheryl is actually at #4, apparently. The #7 is the album version and the radio edit is at #45 but they haven't been combined yet

Not really, it was always intended to be a one-week campaign.

I knew this would happen, I predicted it last week, but I think most people were so caught up in the Christmas no.1 battle that they didn't think as far ahead as this week!

I'll be annoyed if Joe sells enough to get the highest-selling song of the year hopefully it's too late for that now.

It hasn't really thought has it? This will be the 5th year running that the winners song has gotten to number one.

Just not a #1 Xmas song though. So no Xmas victory at all. Just a number one week commencing 27 Dec.

I respect the RATM people and song. But lets be clear, nobody cares about christmas 'songs' as much anymore. The xmas is WAAAAY overrated for me. It's just a song that's commenced on the 20th. Joe will get it for the 27th so the whole thing's no big deal really, totally overblown. I bet Joe's just happy he'll be getting a number 1 at last!

I think it's safe to safe Lady GaGa has it in the bag, unless Joe sells over 400k this week . I don't think Rage will match her sales either. Pokerface has sales of about 860,000 and Rage are on 506,000

If I had a big neon sign, I'd put this up to make it clear.
It wasn't about cock blocking Joe for good, it was about making sure that the Christmas Number One monopoly wasn't dominated by Cowell. That was the point.

She'll end the decade positioned 14th/15th/16th best seller. Depending on SOF sales.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't give a shit about the christmas number one, it's a just a best selling song in which week christmas day is in. And niether songs had anything to do with christmas so the whole things not really worth the hype. At least we could have had a christmas song. RATM have a 1 wee chart topper, and so will Joe now end of story.

Good for Joe - His single must have sold a ton more thanks to the campaign.

Probably not. They're just buying it because they like it. It to me looks like more or less his natural sales score.

Well I think the point is, the X Factor took over a Christmas tradition and presumed that it would automatically get Christmas number 1 year after year. Sure, it wasn't a pretty tradition and sometimes (ok most of the time) the songs were hideous novelty songs, but there was something enjoyable about it really, and that was stolen away by Cowell and his 4 month extravaganza to the top of the chart... People did get very bored of them stealing away a fun tradition and at least this song brought it back.

Blimey, I forgot that people don't buy the X factor single because Simon Cowell tell them to - They buy it because they like it.

Rage against what machine?

Exactly!! 'F*** you, I won't do what you tell me' - apart from buying a single for the sole purpose of beating the X Factor - which they all did! Fail against the machine
