Saw her do a stripped down piano set in a small room at a private party a few weeks back. The event was so initmate I was stood within ten feet of her.
She was understandably nervous but in great voice and did a nice suitably emotive cover of Running Up That Hill. Bless. |

All that media hype and she still doesn't sell. What a bust.

i'm not particularly a fan of any x factor winners but i can recognise the talent of someone like leona regardless of whether i like the actual music she makes.
Leona might be a big star both sides of the pond and she might sell loads of records but if I'm being honest I think she's boring. It's people like Little Boots that give music more of an edge. There's more to music than just belting out ballad after boring ballad. |

All Loena does is sing. She doesn't compose her own records or write her own lyrics etc. When you listen to a Little Boots record you know that what your hearing has come from her own imagination.

it doesn't make an awful lot of difference to me (or the record-buying public either, evidently) whether the artist has written their own stuff - beyonce doesn't, britney doesn't, etc. and they're still huge artists. (btw, i learned from another thread leona has writing credits on almost all of the songs from her first album, so saying "all [she] does is sing" is a little wide of the mark.)

I like Little Boots but haven’t got her album yet but I do intend to get it. Earthquake went to a ridiculous position, sure it isn't the best song but it's one hell of allot better than some of what is in the charts. I suppose the lack of promotion could have something to do with it. Her album is currently Gold I believe, does anyone know how much she has to get before she goes Platinum?, which is really what matters in terms of success.
If she doesn't go Platinum then I don't think she should be dropped, her label should see why she didn't go Platinum and work to make sure her 2nd album does. Artist are dropped to easily now days. |

I find her music horrific. New in Town has to be the most irritating song of the year, and remedy was the most over rated piece of meh-ness I've ever heard.
Cant see her having a second release next year. |

It was Pop Idol she auditioned for and I think she left in the third round of the auditions or something.
she said she was "kicked out" of the third round. |
