my parents are looking to getting a pvr but they want it for their cable and do not want the V+ offer etc. can the pvr's on the market record the cable channels aswell?

The only integrated PVR that handles VM is the V+ however you can get the good old DVD recorder with hard drive (or Blu recorder and hard drive from Panasonic with Freesat and Freeview) and record the scart output of the VM set top box.
Any particular reason the V+ isn't on the list? |

I used to use a lite-on hdd recorder with virgin before I got V+.
It was OK, better than a VCR but nothing really compares to V+ if you have cable. Now we can record two cable feeds and watch a third from the same box - not possible if recording over scart to a seperate PVR or HDD. |
