The Blueprint 3 - Full of Samples?
Hi,
Have just realised something, 10 out of the 15 tracks on the Blueprint 3 ALBUM have been sampled Look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blueprint_3 The orignal "Run This Town" BEAT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVNrGnApG9I The Original "Empire State of Mind" BEAT: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/268398...wo_way_street/ Listen to them! Are you new to the whole hip-hop thing?
And I believe the sample in Empire State of Mind comes from The Moments' version of the song. |

Erm yeah, this is hip-hop for you.
Everyone gets paid, because thats the point of sampling... Is it any different from a cover? At least there is SOME level of creativity in a sample. |

When I first heard "Empire state of Mind" months back! Loved it
Now find out its not 100% orignal, as I first thought it was completly new! The run this town is a complete rip off, sounds so similar to the orignal |

Seriously, how could you possibly be unaware that hip-hop production usually involves sampling? Did you not stop to wonder why Ice Ice Baby sounded like Under Pressure, or U Can't Touch This sounded like Super Freak? |

Ice Ice Baby is nothing like Under Pressure, remember? Vanilla Ice even said so, with the one extra note in the bassline. That changed everything.

I'm not really a fan of hip hop but I think sampling is great. I introduces people to a whole previous era of music and all sorts of genres. Nowt wrong with that I reckon.

Full of samples or not, besides 1 or 2 weak tracks, Blueprint 3 is brilliant.
