Not responding to remote

My Humax is not responding to the remote control.
I have put new batteries in and still no response.
Box is only 3 weeks old.
Anyone else had this problem?

When you press the buttons on the remote do the red lights come on at the top?
Have you got the HDR selected on the red buttons at the top?

Also there is a plastic coating covering the sensor on the HDR (inside the flap) which when removed can help with signal reception.
The remote is clunky though and not very responsive

Hj thank you for replying
Yes red lights come on.

I have removed all clear plastic.

Still no joy.

Is it possible to set a recording using the buttons on the box?

Why would you want to, take it back and exchange it for a new one.

Yup. I think that is the best thing to do.

Only trouble is I have about 10 films recorded.

Press the 'PVR' button on the Remote once, then try it again.

My remote works better when it is pointed away from the box and not too close to the box.

I've had a couple of lock-ups in the six months I've had it where neither the remote nor the box controls worked. In both cases switching off and on at the back fixed it. Do your box controls still work? If not try what I did.

Thank you. Working fine now. I had tried that button before and had no effect.

Thanks for that. I tried everything and nothing worked. Now it's fine.

I think we've all been there more than once...

I have a strange effect with my Panasonic TV. In TV mode, if I press "pause" the picture freezes until I press pause again.
No button on the Panasonic remote can do this!!!

There are often commands that exist which are not on your remote. For instance, my Toshy TV has a button to cycle through inputs. However, if you get a universal remote control such as the Harmony range you find that there are separate buttons for each input.

This makes life a whole lot easier when you need to set up a button to switch on the HDR and then switch the TV to HDMI1. To do that with the cycling button is impossible to achieve, because your remote has no idea which input it is cycling from.
