It was a bit ropey in places, but still about a billion times better than that god awful crap that passed for Band Aid 20. '2' was more my generation and so I have a certain fondness for it, but it wasn't a patch on the original.

At least I've never heard that 'new' version played again!

... but the original was infinately better, those of us who were around in 89 hated band aid 2, for exactly the same reasons you hate band aid 20!

I remember the first Band Aid record very well from my teens. I have absolutely zero recollection of the second version? I didn't have much interest in the pop scene in the late 80s.
