But the man who was standing in the cubicle before he went in was holding his head and appeared to be affected by it unless that was the actor's fault, but surely they'd do a retake if so?

I think you had to be inside the cubicle at the time the gate activated. So he was no longer protected.

yep, though I should re-phrase my earlier comment - he remembered the bad dreams, unlike the rest of humans who suffered dreams but couldn't remember the contents of them. something like that.

A very nasty thought about wilf

The following is in spoiler, and please dont look, as I think this is what is going to happen to the doctor

Spoiler
The woman talking to wilf at the time of the queens broadcast, spoke about him in the war, and never killed anyone

He will soon need to kill someone, but he cant tell the doctor about what just has happened

There is a chance the doctor could be saved, if he cant be saved, I think Wilf is going to kill him

So if Sylvia is not connect to the timeline of Donna and Wilf, is she a Timelord herself

Perhaps this is also how the regeneration will take place.(In that one or both of them is shot and killed).

Timothy Dalton, mentioned the "knock four times" as being the beat of a time lords heart. Now if Wilf's heartbeat "knocks four times" it signifies him as a time lord.

If Wilf is the Doc's final regeneration, and Wilf remembers he's a timelord(through fob watch/Time Lords unmasking him), then he would have crossed his own timeline.

The doctor is never supposed to cross his own timeline, as otherwise terrible things will happen(The end of time itself).

So perhaps, as Doc 10 said on TEOTP1, he will completely die rather than regenerate, but in order for Matt Smith's Doc to come into play, Wilf regenerates .

Crazy thoughts and wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey comes itno play, and we're ready for series 5.

Although there is always the possibility, that Wilf is in fact The Master, exiled to past Earth by the Time Lords for his current actions.

It would explain the bad dreams. In "Utopia", Prof. Yana mentioned hearing a constant drumming/hearing words such as "regernation" and "time lord" for much of his life, not just after he recognized and saw his Fob Watch. < This could be construed as Yana's bad dreams.

It would also explain why Wilf is unaffected, as he cannot change into The Master, if he is The Master.

Its all too much to take, , bring on the final episode.”

Well my theory involves the Doctor dying and Donna regenerating into Matt Smith, so you never know, should your theory be correct, it could be Donna who regenerates.

The dialogue didn't say which war it was - which does suggest that it wasn't WW2 and may not have even been an earthly war.

There's also the scene in the church were he stands in front of a war memorial which gives the names of those men who died for their country.

My theory for Wilf's role - Wilf goes with the Doctor back into the TimeWar and he, not the Doctor, becomes the instrument of Gallifrey's destruction. Thus relieving the Doctor of his survivor guilt meaning Moffat's doc can go forward without stopping every five minutes to tell companions, passers by and stray dogs about his loss.

My preference would be for Gallifrey to come back with the Doctor Donna in charge, as an occasional source of future story lines, but I don't think that's going to happen.

I don't think Wilf's overall role will be that significant. I think the 'connection' between the two of them is that they're the ones who care about Donna the most, and that's what brings them together.

I don't think we can assume Wilf could be a time-lord based on the 'Wilf wasn't affected' thing. For one, the radiation chamber was what protected him. For another, if he was a Time-Lord then doesn't that make Jackie part Time-Lord too? But she became a Simmian (geddit?), so she doesn't have Time-Lord blood.

I don't really know to be honest, but I loved Part 1 and can't WAIT for Part 2!

I suspect that's reading too much into it. Wilf would be about the right age to have been called up just at the end of WW2, and I suspect that's all that's meant.

It's amazing what one can do in a garden shed, though I wonder how he managed to over come the dimensionally transcendental problem.......I mean time travel is easy, but shoving one big object inside a smaller object can't be easy.

He didn't, the Cushing Doctors tardis wasn't bigger on the inside, just a bit cramped and had what looked like a big hand brake from a steam train in it.

Yes it was, just not as big as the TV seies Tardis

As said by Cribbins himself in that movie "outside its ordinary enough, but inside its as big as a house" the Doctor then goes on to explain why its "so much" bigger on the inside.

It's going to quickly get very annoying if the Time Lords insist on repeating everything that Tim Dalton's character says!
