Panasonic TX L32V10B
Help required please.
I am trying to connect a Wii to this unit without success. The Wii has the familiar red, yellow, white push fit connectors. But the Panasonic does not have the same fitting on the back, it has three fittings but these are marked Pr, Pb, and Y. I have tried all the various combinations, without any luck. I obviously require a special lead, can anybody please advise what, as there are scart available. Also can you please advise how I get Freesat? This unit comes with Freesat built-in. I have made the correct connection using a spare Sky lead which comes in the house, but I cannot get any channels.

Those are Component sockets, you can get a Component lead for the Wii, or an RGB SCART lead for it, both will give far better quality than the Composite connection you're trying to use.
I'm not sure about the Panasonic, but Sony sets (and most others) have Composite sockets on the side - I would expect Panasonic to be similar?. |

Yellow ( Composite ) & red & White ( Audio ) are on the right hand side near the SD card reader as Nigel said get a lead for either RGB scart or component as this set will Zing with better inputs . Composite is only VCR resolution !
Once you have your dish connected use the TV button to select freesat and then do menu / setup / tuning menu / auto install to re run the freesat tuning . put your post code in with the space between the groups and confirm with the green button to avoid having multiple regions . You can also run the "add other services" for non freesat stations -- this gives you a extra option in the TV menu . Ian |

Pr Pb Y is the best quality. There will be a separate audio cable to plug into your telly - it'll probably be a bit like one of those small headphone plugs. Overstock.com do loads if quality video adapter cables. Why Nintendo and other games manufacturers can't provide the correct outputs in the first instance is beyond me. It's all there, they just produce a bespoke connector on the back of the unit and you are forced into buying the right type. It's b****y annoying. |

Success
Thanks for the help.
Tuned into Freesat. This took some 20 minutes, and all seems fine. Wii leads will have to wait till next week but seem readily available. It is one of the pains of modern technolgy - the adds for these products make it look neat and accommodating, no sign of the vast amount of cables required. The back of my tele looks a definate health and safety issue! |
