Surround Sound Advice
Hello I have a Samsung LCD Tv with 3 hdmi inputs connecting to PS3, SkyHD and DVD recorder.
I would love to add a surround sound system to this but I'm struggling to work out which systems are best. I would like: - a compact set up (smaller speakers/lack of wires) - 5.1 - to connect it to ps3/skyHD I could ditch the DVD recorder if the surround sound came with a recorder, blu-ray recorder would be a bonus. Can you get a surround system without a DVD plater/recorder A little confused at the moment, would appreciate your help. Thanks! |

What is your budget and quality of audio expectations?
Richer Sounds could easily supply you with a home entertainment amplifier with sufficient inputs and a suitable speaker package for a very reasonable price. The thing about surround sound systems is that if you use an AV amp it can switch video and audio source for you, with just one connection to the TV. |

Today I got the one linked in post number 4 here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...008&highlight=
It's 2.1 but you can make it 5 and 7.1 with additional speakers. The bloke in the shop however nice and helpful downplayed its ooomph. But this little package packs enough punch for my living room. |

Budget, somewhere between £300 - £500 would be nice. Certainly don't want to spend more than £500.
As for audio expectation, I would like it to be an experience and not just a ballsy/powerful bass. I would prefer it to be more 'surround' than 'loud' ( does that make sense?) |

It underlines the need to go and listen to kit yourself. To ensure you can get a frequency range balance that makes you comfortable. So many of these cheap systems hide their deficiencies behind an artificially inflated low frequency boost. |
