HDR Timeslip Recording Bug
White-Knight
28-12-2009
Hi,

Found a bug thats not been addressed.

Think timeslip recording is the correct term but not sure. Basically I was making a recording that I wanted to watch at the same time. So I rewound the recording (Top Gear in Bolivia (HD)), and started watching it from the beginning as it recorded. The recording was around 1/2 an hour ahead of the portion I was watching.

When the recording finished, I would have expected it to finish and for me to continue watching it. However, when it finished, it also kicked me out of playback and stopped dead. I did manage to successfully watch the rest of it by selecting the recording and pressing "play" once more as it had successfully recorded. However, the action of stopping playback 1/2 way through when the recording finished was an unexpected one and one that makes no real sense. You would expect recording to simply cease in the background and for the playback to continue uninterrupted.

There are a large number of threads that have already raised this. Not sure what Humax are doing about it.

The way round this one is to use chasing playback. Wait 30 sec and select the recording from the media list and playback in the usual way. You can do anything within the confines of the already recorded section and if you fast forward to real time and you have the same channel selected it drops back to the live transmission

Thanks Graham, I'll try that.

I hope Humax eventually fix the bug though.
