I went for a mooch around there today for the first time in ages, and was stunned to see that the only sizes in most tops on display were XXS XS and S
I thought it was just the 2 things I looked at, so I checked out a few more items and noticed it was the norm.

Is this a common thing for Topman?

Replace skinny with 'moron students who all dress the same and have zero imagination when it comes to dressing themselves'

Im a student and cant stand these topman boys you see everywhere.

I don't shop there. I am obese by their standards. Crappy Burtons also sell loads of manorexic clothing.

I appreciate topman because it always has XS in stock... however I can rarely find stuff I like there.

i'm skinny so its useful for some things like trousers maybe jeans but i dont like the dance-indie bright colour trend they have going on

prefer H&M or ZARA

They sound like the opposite of TopShop - all I can ever find in there are sizes 12+.
I hate having to ask them to look out the back for something just so I can try it on.
Strangely, when I decide not to buy them, they take them back out to the stockroom afterwards instead of putting them on a shelf what's that all about? Are size 8's banned now?

What the hell size is XXS in numerical terms?

I know what you mean, my exboyfriend is one of the skinniest guys I know and he has to take size medium so I'd be very worried to see some of these XXS men.

My friend is this size and male and he has a 28 waist, weighs about 6 and a half stone. And top wise is XXS.

i dont know but i find topshop's skinny jeans for women to be too damn narrow, im a 8/10 and both sizes i have to literally peel off my lower legs to get them off, the sizings all wrong.

i have one friend who shops there, and he's pretty tall and skinny - but not freakishly so.

perhaps that was all you could find on display because all the other sizes had already been bought? (what? it's possible... )

Is an adult male who fits an XXS actually classed as an adult male? I couldn't imagine dating someone so skinny , it'd put me right off. Topman looks like it's for students

I always found Topshop clothes only good until the first wash ie one wear. Stopped going there years ago as I would rather pay a bit more for a garment that's going to last me several months at least.

Topman clothes are known for being smaller than the average high street size. For example, I get an XL size polo shirt in Burtons or River Island, but in Topman, an XL goes no-where near!

Topman is the "young mans" store which would indicate why it looks studenty, however, alot of the clothes are pretty dire and "try too hard" if you get me...

I'm not skinny by any means - I'm a 30 inch waist, 38 chest and about 10.5 stone - but find 's' fits me perfectly, particularly their shirts. XXS is designed for 32-34 inch chests - so this size is probably aimed at teenagers.

You also have to have your fringe combed forward over one eye like a kind of retarded eye patch.

I shop in Topman all the time and although a student I am far from a "moron" student thankyou very much.

And in answer to op, I'm a size M so definatley not anorexic- I think the people who like the style sold in Topman tend to be thinner anyway. Its just like you very rarely see a thin woman in, say, Evans?

But no, I'm sure if you'll look hard enough you'll find a Topman garment in a size larger than S- I know I can.

I used to buy stuff in there when I was younger (in my teens) they did some good clothes, but they weren't skinny. probably cos skinny wasn't fashionable back then.

Theres nowt wrong with Topman. I am 33 and still shop there. Granted, most of the stuff is not to my taste but I still go there for well cut reasonably priced jeans and I also love their chunky cardigans at this time of year. Nobody my age could get their entire wardrobe from Topman but you can still get away with some bits and pieces from there. I also shop at H&M, Zara and River Island.

Have I got this right? It sounds like you're saying Evans only sell designs that larger women would think are nice, and Topman don't sell clothes that any men who aren't thin would want to wear

You don't see thin women in Evans because they only stock size 14 and larger, so it's perfectly possible they could see something they liked in there but they wouldn't buy it because it wouldn't fit them.

Agreed. I'm even older and I still buy things in Topman as well as River Island, Zara and H&M. I dont see why I should have to buy middle age man clothes from M&S once I reach a certain age
