i know, and i respect that as i'm pretty sure you wouldn't like any list i gave you as my personal favourites.

but i don't like any of them. i can't stand rihanna, the killers, or all-american rejects, and taylor swift and the enemy bore me to death.

nothing personal mind you

'Worst' is hugely subjective but I found this one jaw-droppingly awful:

http://www.youtube.com/user/WhoresMa.../0/f-whsr3CMtA

Normally I love a bit of queer culture in my pop music but this was so desperate and try-hard that it failed on every count. The video is hilarious (still can't work out if this is intentional or not), especially the half-arsed dry humping towards the end.

Nothing else comes close. IMO, obv.

3 Words by Cheryl Cole is awful. I quite liked Fight For This Love but just no.

Also,

La Roux - In For The Kill
Beyonce - Video Phone (and i'm a huge Beyonce fan)
Dizzee Rascal - Holiday
Pitbull - I Know You Want Me

Not even one? There's got to be like thousands of songs released this year. Surely you like at least one?

Sugababes have this one wrapped up for inflicting "Get Sexy" on us. The song is terrible with or without Keisha.
Everything is wrong with it - from the siren at the beginning to the cringe lyrics ("in a two-piece at the beach they say hey sexy/it don't matter where I are"), to ripping off Right Said Fred for the chorus I was convinced when I first heard it that the song had to be a spoof or something it was that bad. I shudder to think it almost got to #1 too. People are mad.

Judging by my spectacular powers of great deduction, I'm guessing you like The Libertines and The Beatles? I won't lie, I think they are very very good. And while I am into indie rock music mainly, I am going through a bit of a pop punk moment, hence my love for AAR, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry.

I'm only 16 though at the minute, so I suppose I have time to broaden my musical tastes, but I would say that music isn't quite what it used to be anymore. Songwriters are being lazy. They are producing five-minutes-of-fame music (N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott, Lady Gaga, and I would include Taylor and Katy in this list). I don't think I can name a single song that will become a classic that has been released in the past year (except for Sex On Fire, maybe...)

There are more than 10 (probably about 100) but here is the worst of the worst IMO

1) Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say
2) Keisha - Tick Tock
3) Soulja Boy - Kiss Me Thru The Phone
4) JLS - Everybody In Love
5) 3OH!3 & Katy Perry - Starstrukk
6) Pitbull - Hotel Room Service
7) Joe McElderry - The Climb
8) Jay Z & Mr Hudson - Young Forever
9) Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA
10) Timbaland - Morning After Dark

A horrible year for music, even N Dubz don't make the list which tells you how bad it was.

F**k Autotune.

Jeez, I forgot about Soulja Boy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1OIV...eature=related

So, to anyone who has ever bought a Soulja Boy song, a Soulja Boy album, tickets to see Soulja Boy, or any other Soulja Boy merchandise for that matter, this is what your money went on. It wasn't spent on a new album, inproving his songs and making his concerts a visual glory. It was spent on that shit he is showing you in the video.

Suffice to say I have never put a penny in that idiots pocket *insert overtly smug smiley/Piers Morgan smiley here*

4) JLS - Everybody In Love Totally agree
5) 3OH!3 & Katy Perry - Starstrukk I like it
6) Pitbull - Hotel Room Service Hate it hate it!!
7) Joe McElderry - The Climb Prefer Mileys'
8) Jay Z & Mr Hudson - Young Forever Awful
9) Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA Love this
10) Timbaland - Morning After Dark Hate it”

There's quite a few great songs this year, imo that aren't too "edited".

Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You
Beyonce - Halo/Sweet Dreams/Broken Hearted Girl
Pixie Lott - Boys and Girls
Jay-Z - Empire State of Mind
Eminem - Beautiful
The Fray - Never Say Never
Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
Michael Buble - Haven't Met You Yet
The Saturdays - Work

those two are my favourite bands, well done sherlock

i like a bit of indie rock, but proper indie - not what the mainstream recognises as indie, eg. kaiser chiefs, the killers, temper trap, etc.
best of the noughties lists are difficult for me, because most of my favourite music came before this decade, so when i measure today's music against the stuff i like from past decades... not a lot of it compares favourably. i'm not saying there hasn't been some incredible music this decade, but none of it appeared to be included in that list.

my other problem with lists like these is the terminology - i can't see that list for what they're saying it is: those aren't the "greatest" songs of the noughties. they're the favourites from a poll they conducted. so maybe they're the most popular songs, but i wouldn't define every single one of them as "great". and i don't mean just me personally, there have been wider polls conducted with (what i think are) fairer results.

a list which ranks james blunt's offerings at number 10 but with no mention of lady gaga, the strokes, the libertines, muse, radiohead (and i'm not a fan of all of them, it's just what i see as fair), etc... i just can't take it seriously.

Hmm, I wouldn't call The Killers indie or rock. Day & Age was a strange album - brilliant, but strange. Because Human & The World We Live In was all electro, then they had steel drums and saxophones on other songs, whereas their last album was more rock. I still think they are a fantastic band though, I like the fact you can't label them, unlike previous favourites of mine such as My Chemical Romance and PATD. They were labelled too much, if you know what I mean. And my ears will never recover from Fall Out Boy's crap.

I also think James Blunt has inflicted some horrific music upon us. What the whole nation did to offend him so much I will never know, but I think the UK have recovered fairly well. We pulled together, and we did okay until N-Dubz came along and battered our eardrums.

I personally would like to see the chart crowded with my old favourites, such as Bowie, Queen, Oasis, The Verve, Manic Street Preachers, Rolling Stones, The Cure, The Beatles, that kind of thing.

But then again it wouldn't be fair on new artists or Black Eyed Peas - another band who likes to sling shit in our ears...

the bands you emboldened were examples of what people assume i like when i say i like indie music (it's usually not even worth taking the time to explain) but i certainly wouldn't call the killers indie either.

the bands you mentioned are all bands i like too, especially bowie, the stones, the cure and especially especially the manics
