Tik tok is a catchy tune "And the party don't start till i walk in..."

It's odd how the song can barely crack top 5 here, and yet manage TWO MONTHS at number one down under. Why on earth is there such a difference in popularity?

She's No.1 in the U.S. now too so her popularity isn't confined to Down Under.

More competition in UK charts from natives and international artists?
From what i gather in Aussie charts - their charts are mainly made up mainly of imports

I think to make no1 in Australia you have to sell about 8 copies.

If you sell 100 albums in Australia, your album would be triple platinum.

It went #1 in America, Australia (70,000 + copies), Canada and New Zealand plus #5 here, #3 in Norway, #4 in Sweden, #7 in Finland, #6 in France and #5 in Ireland.

Not bad for a debut single.

It's gaining momentum, I think it'll crack top 3 this week.

It hasn't had the best chart positions because the download version came out about a month before the physical version, so it's had staggered sales over a few weeks. The same happened with Bad Romance.
