Top 40 of 2009..on Radio 1? Where is it?
Radio 1 usually carry the top 40 of the year on New Years Day. This is usually the "official" chart of the year as it includes sales right up to new years eve (unlike the chart of the year on Viva, which indicated Joe Mcelderry "might" finish in the top 3!)
But this year Radio 1 are doing the Top 100 of the decade. Interesting..but where is the chart of the year? Any ideas? If not, where do I find the correct chart of the year? |

Thankyou for solving that one for me..I think! I missed that thread..
![]() So am I to take it the official chart of the year is on Radio 1 on Jan 3rd? I thought that was just the normal weekly chart. If Radio 1 dont air the chart of the year where do I get the official rundown on the internet? (because theres no sign of it on Radio 1's site!) |

I'm pretty sure it'll be on Sunday 3rd despite what it says on their website. The reason is that the OCC will use this week's full sales for the 2009 chart. Those are sales up to and including Sat 2nd. They work in full weeks and if they'd just used sales up to Sat 26th then 5 days' sales would be missing. So they couldn't do the 2009 chart before this Sunday!
