First thing that strikes me is all the 'featuring' that's been going on this year. Can artists not create songs on their own any more?
Any. Way.
My personal favourite of these is, surprisingly (not least to me), Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyed Peas. I'm not their biggest fan, normally, but this is an interesting track. There is more than a whiff of Arcade Fire about it, in my opinion.
Although I also loved Bad Romance, The Fear, Bulletproof and Oopsy Daisy. This last one is normally not my kind of thing at all, it's ringtone music, but there's pop genius at work in Oopsy Daisy and I find myself liking it despite myself!
Worst is a toss-up between Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas (see, contrary, aren't I) and Sexy Bitch by David Guetta/Akon, which was just noise.
