Seen a dress I love, desperately need to co-ordinate it with shoes accessories etc. to make is look nice and dressy for tomorrow night, but don't have a great eye for this knd of thing.

Goiing to buy this dress

What would you recommend for shoes though? I'm thinking these

But I don't want to bear my legs, so would need tights / leggings etc.

Also, am I right in thinking it's a crime against humanity to wear tights with open toe boots?

Any suggestions for handbag / jewellery to match?

Thank you

hey!

I love the dress, its a great colour!

In terms of the shoes, I think I'd go for black shoe boots as opposed to grey and tights are fine with open toe boots or shoes.

I've had a look for some shoes & think these would all go well with tights:

I have the Topshop pair & I wear them with tights too.

Hope the above is of some help & have a great night

the dorothy perkins' pair are really nice.

i wouldn't worry about wearing tights with open-toed shoes, especially if they're black

I agree with the above FMs, nice dress, tights are fine with open toed shoes (within reason) and black shoes are a must, grey (even if dark) will water down the effect of the black on the dress.

thank u v. much like the boots, a bit out of my price range though but going into manchester tomorrow so will b able to find something similar!

I really like the dress, think perhaps coz it's a bit of an unusual colour!

Do you think I can get away with some shimmery leggings / tights or do they need to b plain? hehe it's a shame for me isn't it?

Hi OTD! mmmm I'd definately go for plain opaque tights as opposed to anything shimmery. Just my opinion but think less is more. You want it to look thrown together effortlessly

I agree, plain tights too, nice thick black ones would look great. The dress is simple blocks of colour, anything else would detract from that. Shimmery tights would look nice with a black top/skirt look as it will soften the look.

Lovely dress, OTD.

I'd go for the Dorothy Perkins patent platform shoes that wotsit111 posted and natural or very sheer "nearly black" tights. Opaque black tights would look odd with black dressy shoes. The dress is quite a classic shape so wouldn't really suit shoe boots.

As for jewellery, I wouldn't wear a necklace as it would detract from the detail of the neckline. Earrings and a bracelet that are either black or have some black in them would pick out the black in the dress and match the shoes. Alternatively, simple silver or gold would go with the colour of the dress.

You've probably already decided OTD, but i love the dress and the dorothy perkins shoes wotsit11 posted. I think opaque tights would go well and shimmery tights might slightly take away from the dress which is stunning.

I agree with Candy Store in terms of not wearing necklace/chain but if you really want something, i'd go for a small pendant. I would go for black or silver jewellery but that's because i personally am not too keen on gold.

Have a fan time OP!!!

Thanks everyone - went for plain opaques in the end and shoes similar to the Dot P ones! LOVE the dress - I'm quite stumpy but looked at the pics and it works wonder on boobs and waists!

Thanks for all your advice!

I was going to ask about your height and shape as shoe boots are quite unflattering if you're short, even if you're very slim (think Cheryl Cole and the number of times she wore shoe boots with short dresses). I agree that the dress will draw attention to your bust because of the neckline and waist because of the contrast belt so it will really emphasise an hourglass shape.

Have fun
