gutted at the report of another of my fav male singers (dave dee being the other) succumbed to cancer.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...s-aged-61.html

he had the archytypal male folk singers voice and loved the subject of traditional folk music. ive seen steeleye span several times and they put on fantastic live performances.

hes left me with a legacy of music that has greatly influenced my life, rip tim.

Very sad news - RIP Tim.

Steeleye Span were a very important group during the late 60's/early 70's and their first two albums, "Hark the Village Waits" and "Please To See The King" are seminal albums from that period.

Tim always gave Steeleye Span a rockier edge to their music which distinguished them from Fairport Convention.

My favourite track

Thomas The Rhymer

V sad news - so much of his music was the soundtrack to my childhood. His Nursery Rhymes & Drunken Sailor albums probably formed most of my musical taste today, and got to love Steeleye.

I used to have the nursery rhymes albums. My children liked them very much; they are perfect for any parent with young children who likes well-played folk music.
