Music from 2000 - A decade ago

Forget any embarrassing stuff here's some tracks that are still cool ten years on:

This would be on my MP3 player (or Portable CD player/mini disc/tape player) as it was in 2000 (Some might be late 1999):

U2 Beautiful Day
Darude - Sandstorm
Andreas Johnson - Glorious
Coldplay - Trouble
Bon Jovi - It's my Life
The Offspring - Original Prankster
Blink182 - All the Small Things
Coldplay - Yellow
Eminem - Stan
Oasis - Sunday Morning Call
Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag

Anybody else got some? Here's a reminder of music from a decade ago:

And I remember you could ring The Box music channel up and select all these!

I still listen to Stan all the time.

One of the best songs ever, imo. Quite heartbreaking.

'Stan' is the only one of those songs I own. I still listen to it. I don't like the video though.

It was the year of music videos that could only be shown after 9pm. I remember they had to cut alot of videos from 2000 from Robbie Williams and Eminem.

I understand why the 'Stan' video was cut, but why did RW have a cut video?

*EDIT* At the start of the 'Stan' video, does Stan get sick or dye his hair? That is what puts me off the video because I hate seeing people get sick, even on tv. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer about it.

I also liked 'Teenage Dirtbag' and 'All The Small Things'.

back in 2000, I was 13/14 and was a fully fledged teeny bopper!

CD collection was filled with Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Britney Spears, Christina etc... but my fave album that year was NSync, No Strings Attached, still have it on my Ipod

been going back and looking at music from 2000 and there was some pretty good stuff out, so glad that by 2001 I widened my musical taste and started to stray from the teeny bop!

With the exception of Wheatus, which I never liked anyway, I still listen to all the songs mentioned in the OP.

... the most uncomfortable thing about those choices (and others) are that they could be released today and still feel contemporary. no they werent advanced, music just hasnt moved very far foreward.

you certainly couldnt easily fit in music from 1990 ten years ago, or music from 1980 in 1990 ...etc.

My favourite single of 2000 was LeAnn Rimes with Can't Fight the Moonlight. I have not liked any no 1s as much since. Several of the biggest sellers and my friends' fave songs came from around Christmas that year.

I also remember 2000 best for Coldplay and Badly Drawn Boy making their debut, and Bon Jovi their best single with It's My Life.
