As reported yesterday on Billboard. com, Ke$ha maintains her perch atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with "TiK ToK" while setting the record for most single-week downloads by a female artist (610,000).

The prior female mark was set by Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" (419,000) in the same holiday frame last year. Gaga, who holds at No. 3 on the Hot 100 with "Bad Romance," surpasses that sum as well with her "Romance" moving 445,000 this week.
Wow!

Amazing sales for Ke$ha! It dropped out of the Top 10 here and is now set to be in the top 5, currently 2 on iTunes!

Ke$ha is doing really well, especially considering the lack of promotion she has done over here! Who needs X Factor, eh?

To be fair, the radio is promoting her very well. They're obsessed with her.

I don't actually like the song that much, but congrats to her.

And her AND Lady Gaga broke the record in the same week!!? Wow!

I havent seen any Kesha promotion, but the song is just infectious. To be fair, the song is pretty terrible, but its just so ear friendly and catchy that its good A total guilty pleasure song

Ke$ha appeared as a guest on Scott Mills' Radio 1 show a few weeks back, and she supported Calvin Harris a few times over here, but that's the only promo she's had.

Maybe she will come to the uk again around the time her album drops on January 18th. Hope so.

Her chart run for TiK ToK went 6 - 6 -7 - 7 - 7 - 11 - 5 and is set to be back in the top five this week.

It's amazing. Virtually no promo and yet rules the charts worldwide.

Imagine if she did do promo it'd be No.1 for sure!

The chorus is addictive and the part when she said " And the party don't start till i walk in.." is going to be soo timeless from now on with the song!

congratulations for holding number 1 for 2 poxy weeks? anyone remember the old days when it was only considered an acievement to hold number one for 10 plus weeks?

anyway sorry to sound like an old fart. i dot mind the song but the bit where she goes "but we kick the to the kerb unless they look like mick jagger" always makes me smile! Is she actually saying she only gets with the lads who look like mick jagger? surely she could have come up with a better rhyming word for swagger?

For a debut single, getting #1 in America and reaching the top five in numerous other countries on mostly downloads with very little promotion is fantastic. Especially considering she just broke a record and writes her own songs.
