Ah new thread.
Why is it everyone fancies Amber? I mean she's a pretty lass, but she's not so amazing. I wish River City was on more frequently I always find the wait for it really drags, I miss it when it isn't on

Scarlett's mam is some piece of work eh? Can't believe Lenny either, was suspicious but never expected him to stoop so low! |

I just knew Amber would forgive her before the show was over. So predictable....but that's why I love RC
![]() Do you think we'll see Jen's coming out to her parents? If so I think it'll be her mum that reacts badly. Also would be nice to see her get a gf, that isn't like Amber since I don't see a girl like Jen liking a girl like Amber really. Gina was really annoying me tonight, and I did feel a bit sorry for Jo. |

i have scarly been watching river city for the past few weeks now and got to say even though she cant act for shit i'm falling in love with jennifer even though she digs the girls.
but this lydia lenny lee story is it just me that has thought of this but can you see a replica of some certain 2008/09 eastenders storyline could happen in that the real real son comes to find lydia. |

I'm just watching it just now and I have to admit it is dragging a bit.
![]() Amber has improved greatly she was awful when she arrived. There have been a few characters that have been terrible to begin with then once they settled in its like they have always been there. However, Jen isn't one of them for me she just annows the hell out of me everytime she is on screen. Sorry! ![]() I wish they would bring Stevie back he's been in jail for about 5 years now possibly 6. |

I wanted to slap Gina last night, she is just soooooo annoying, mind you you can hardly blame her having Jo as a daughter.

I think RC has been really good these last few weeks, have really enjoyed the Lydia/Lee storyline. Somehow, I dont think we.ll see Lee again, or if he comes back, Lenny will have him bumped off. I thought Big Boab and Scarlett,s Mammy would have been good characters, but will be surprised if we see them again. It,s a long time since Una McLean(Scarlett,s mother) has been on telly, she used to be a top comedienne in her day, dont suppose there,s many people on here who remember her. I think she was in a series with Johnny Beattie(Malcolm) years ago. Looks like we,ll be getting rid off Jo, as well, now that she,s emigrating

Not likely to happen I'm afraid. I'm sure (99.9%) that Lee mentioned that the 'real' son was dead??? I might be wrong.

yeah thats entirley my point that the dead son bit might not be true and the real son can come in without anyone noticing until a big reveal.

I thought I could see a bit of a spark between Lee and Amber, in true soap style there should be a forbidden relationship between the non brother and sister. Suppose this would be too much like Jo and Luca though.

I still need to watch tonights episode, but based on last week, I really hope Jo isn't leaving.
I've been saying this for over a year now (Nearer 2 probably) but I want Gina to leave. She does my head in, she's never happier than when she's moaning about her family. And if her two daughters are actually talking to her, she'll find a way to scream abuse at one of them, then act surprised a few weeks later when they turn on her. She's just a horrible person pretending to be all nice! I wish Archie had bumped her off. Anyone noticed the distinct lack of CaptainTitanic over the past few months, I think the fan reaction to him and Marianne has actually been noted and I reckon they're just going to be background characters until their contracts are up then we'll be rid of them! It's been a year now, I am surprised there was no mention of Mary, wasn't it just over a year ago (right before Danny and co arrived at hogmanay) that Mary went missing? I'd love her to return, and agree about Scarletts family, although when I read they were coming into the show i took it they were coming in permanently. I thought perhaps big Bob would take Iris's flat about Shirleys old place and in the end his mother would follow. |

Hope you don't mind a newcomer joining the thread
Watched River City for the first time over the weekend when I saw it advertised on BBC iplayer (I'm in England so it isn't shown on TV to my knowledge) and really enjoyed it. It's a pity that it didn't get the Neighbours slot or something when it moved over to channel 5. Haven't got a clue who most of the characters are and their backgrounds yet, I'll have to get onto the website and read up about everyone lol. |

Just ask any questions in here if the official site doesn't clear everything up for you. Quite a few of us have watched from the beginning. It's a class show, quite a few times in the past, I've honestly felt it surpassed Eastenders, not for extended periods but 3 or 4 episodes of brilliance in a row. Also totally agree about taking Neighbours slot, I remember when Neighbours was moving I worked out they had enough (If they split the show back into its old half hourly format that was on twice a week) for a few years of episodes before it would catch up, which if it was used 6 months on 6 months off would be even longer, plus the screening time issues wouldn't really be an issue since the show is on on Sundays at the same time as Eastenders Omnibus so showing it at quarter to 2 shouldn't have been an issue in terms of censorship. I really do think the BBC missed a good (cheap) option for the Neighbours slot, they could have even alternated between River City and any BBC soaps that are shown in Ireland or Wales (If they were in English of course) |
