Debatably David was the best Doctor ever, but Chris Ecclestone wasn't bad before him and I wondered if Tennant would live up to the hype, he did superbly. As far as I am concerned Matt Smith starts on a clean slate and will be judged on what he does from this day forth.
How can anyone possibly say he won't be able to fill anyones boots when he has only just put them on is beyond me!

The trailer really does look amazing. As I said months ago, I reckon the new boy will nail this thing. I like the "Trust me, I'm the Doctor", at the end. Suggests a more thoughtful character.

Yep, not bad. Nice ending seeing all the old companions but unforgiveable that Ten made Bernard Cribbens cry (joking honest!). Matt looks promising and was a refreshing new breath of air.

Wow, that really looks great. Theres something a bit Pat Troughton about Matt judging from that, which can only be a good thing.

Interesting to see him with a gun in his hand in a couple of shots as well.

11 seems more un self concious and geeky to me, mutt looks fantastic.

He has a big personality, but clearly very distinct from Ten, which is good. I like that. I like his mannerisms.

Not as good as Eccelstone's regeneration, but imo came a very close 2nd as one of the best in the entire Dr Who series.

I think Fives was the best regeneration - the story was brilliant and the concept behind the regeneration also. I thought this was a strong regeneratino too, but Fives was very special, after all it was voted the best DW story ever last year!

Indeed! I will miss David alot and he probably will be my fave Dr for the rest of the shows run but Matt has done well in what little weve seen, so Im all for giving him a chance.

They showed it on BBC Three after Doctor Who Confidential.

they did show it on bbc one after eastenders last night too. I think they decided not to show it right after the episode so as not to be accused of being insensitive or some such, which I think is silly personally.

Looking at it I believe that Matt will make an awesome Doctor, just like DT did and I am sure that there were the doomsayers saying the same thing about DT when Chris E left.

Moffet will make this new series one of the best, just look at the trailer and you will see.

The long goodbye of Tennant reminded me of Tony Blair & his leaving office. A tad too long drawn out. The New Who looks promising & after the first episode we will all be hooked again!
