My guess was that, unlike anyone else so far, 10 pointed his hands directly at the Control panel, with that cannon of energy striking the control panel seems to of sent it out of control.

Gives the excuse for the change of Tardis interior. The Doctor says he is crashing. Into what?

I just think of it that he was resisting the regeneration, as much as is possible anyway, and as a result the energy release was greater than it would otherwise have been....

Not that I've given it a great deal of thought you understand

It was all that radiation inside him that he'd soaked up, when the regeneration started, there was a lot of energy in the room, and it caused the TARDIS to explode.

He set the TARDIS to crash... otherwise he wouldnt have regenerated and went 'im crashing'.

The controls were left unmanned when need be, and regeneration shot into the console, basically blowing it all up and in the process, giving the whole series a new start.

I thought maybe it was because of the nuclear energy he had absorbed when he saved Wilf.
