When you were seeing David for the last second, how was you feeling? I know that I actually had some tears in my eyes because DT was a truly amazing doctor and when he said "I don't wanna go" I truly felt sad by the exit taking place.

Matt looks promising too though, I want to add.

Excited at seeing a new Dr, followed swiftly by disappointment when he started acting like a Tennant clone (that said, and I think Smith will be excellent once series 5 starts).

My reaction was a mixture of "at last, get on with it", "why's the TARDIS on fire?" and "Good Lord, Ecclestone didn't blub so much".

Yeah i was a bit miffed at the instant DT clonage! My reaction was more like "nooooooooooooo", specially when he said "i dont wanna go". Gonna miss him loads but i guess i gotta give MS the benefit of the doubt

Me too! I spent the last half hour muttering: 'For God's sake, hurry up and go'. It had all got too pompous and messianic.

matt smith was acting just like david tennants doctor, i found it bizarre. he didnt have to be so OTT, the bit where he was checking he had arms and legs was great, but then he continued with nose, ears GINGER HAIR!!?? it just was silly imo. i certainly hope its not a sign of things to come !

Excitement. Pure excitement.

"I don't want to go"

His last words. I wasn't expecting those as I was sucked in by the "last words will end with 'n' rumours.

I also loved the graphics and how his regeneration destroyed the TARDIS interior and exterior. It was really interesting to see that he spent the whole of the specials fearing the end of his life or his regeneration but once he happened we saw nothing but utter euphoria. I wonder if it's part of the whole "new man" thing or a symbton of post regeneration stress.

Yeah, I sort of expected that and wrote it off as I wasn't the intended audience and I know from reading here that plenty of people would appreciate it but it did go on a bit.

I looked at the clock when he emerged after the lethal radiation dose dose and thought 25 minutes to go? Oh Gawd, here we go, I just want to see what Matt's going to be like.

Still, horses for courses.

Sums up Russell 'T' Davies' scripts perfectly

Yep. Since there isn't a Goodbye and Good Riddance, Davies, I'll say it here. Thank GOD he's gone!

I was just relieved he finally went. That has to be the most protracted death scene ever. 'I don't want to go'. What a whiner!

all the cloning of DT's Doctor is only part of the transition process to ease the audience into it gently particularly given the few months before the season starts. panic not I feared about the casting of MS, now I'm quite excited....sounds like when CE left and I saw DT for the first time

Sad but unliked the CE Regen (which was a shock to most) this has been expected.

Sad to See DT go..but it wasnt like he was sacked he decided enough was enough and left.

(personally I think he's going to regret it) some roles are made for you and DW suited him so well.

i think alot of people seemed to like that part, i thought it was dreadful though, just to add more emotion to the audience.i much prefered christopher eccelstons regeneration into DT, just a simple, yet effective regeneration. was perfect

I love DT, but by the end I was ready for him to go and I had a big smile on my face with Matt Smith.

I think he is going to be great.

sad to see DT go. I thought it was a great little twist though that Bernard Cribbins would be the accidental harbinger of death for the 10th doctor.

I was choking up i admit and then massively relieved to find myself laughing at the new Dr, as for the final words i wonder if RTD wasnt lying when he said it ended with N, i perhaps they cut off the end and it was originally "I don't want to go nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn(oooooooooo) !!

I thought - shockingly bad episode, brilliant Doctor, goodbye and good night

I thought it was better written and acted than CE's regeneration into DT. I really did think DT did the regeneration scene wonderfully and whilst I am sad to see him go, I am so excited at what Matt Smith can do.

By the time DT regenerated I was bored. It was some 20 minutes after he had got the radiation poisoning.

A big part of me was expecting a final twist. I thought that the booth he and Wilf was in had actually failed to give him a lethal dose. I started thinking that the 'reward' he was giving himself was catching up with old friends one last time before carrying on his journey.

That final time when he entered the TARDIS I genuinely thought there was going to be someone in it waiting for him, perhaps the Master. Someone to suprise him and try and kill him - maybe even the Master attempting to steal the TARDIS from him (he had been asking about it all bloody episode).

But no.

A bit of dialogue then some unexplained explosions in the control room.

Most likely a McGuffin for Moffat to start MS new series with... "damn those Sontarans have attacked the TARDIS again!"

I've not followed DW religously.. does regeneration just mean a new body for the same guy - one with all the same memories etc.

The same personal really but he's a new man in terms of new personality and physical features but he retains the same memories of all his regenerations.

I never have any reaction to the new Doctor after his regeneration as it's all a bit odd.

I'm usually pretty critical of the show but I won't have any opinion on Matt Smith until he is in a proper episode. I wasn't sure of Tennant when I saw his regeneration so I didn't expect anything different with Smith

OMG!!! I was thinking he is going to nuke the Tardis I'll give Matt Smith a chance but going to miss DT (mind I said DT would never be as good as CE - I was wrong!)
