Those were my thoughts exactly! Christ that was a long drawn out regeneration. I showed my other half Eccleston's regeneration on YouTube shortly after and he was amazed at how little fuss was made. I thought David Tennant was awesome as The Doctor but No. 10 really was such an emo.

I don't think Matt Smith is at all ugly. Even if the new Doctor was ugly, so what?

Totally underwhelmed. The whole process was devoid of emotion.

I was glad it had finally arrived. I didn't find it overwhelmingly emotional at all. But that wasn't a disappointment for me, I had hoped for underplayed emotion, and got what I wanted.

To be honest I think my long exposure to Matt Smith over the last year, seeing his filming pictures and being told by RTD that I will be upset, probably diluted the impact a bit. Firstly because I don't like being told what I should feel, and also because I got more excited about the new 2010 production than this finale.

The whole thing was like a metaphor for RTD leaving, self-indulgent overblown nonsense with more endings than Lord of the Rings, throwing the toys out of the pram and smashing everything up whilst crying about how he doesn't want to go

Shame Tennant's Doctor had to end that way, but in all of the specials, he's been getting more and more unlikable, so it was a relief when he finally changed as it's time for a fresh start

i thought the whole finale episodes had one decent scene (the wilf trapped in the radiated box scene). Everything before that was overblown crap and everything afterwards was self indulgent. Didn't enjoy it at all.
