However the wife is just not into technology and values the Sky Remote and the distribution to the bedrooms..
and it is no problem leaving it in situ..as i have augmented the LNB system in the dish.
Is there an optimum time/method to give notice for the 'FREE' facilty?
as i have heard of people paying a one off of £20 for the facility of the Free service?.
Also can one then simply take out the drive for use elsewhere?

It will be the standard 30 day notice to terminate the recording features.

You won't need to pay a one off £20 fee as you already have a card (I presume you were sent a white card sometime over the last few months).

The Sky+ box is yours to do with as you wish so you can remove the drive if you wish (not sure if they work without one though).

Open File Manager (media - opt +)
Cursor right to right pane and then to user folder - OK to open it

Cursor left - press yellow to enter edit mode. Cursor to each file and press OK to set a tick on all the files you want to move. The move button should now move all of them
