Cleanup on aisle 5...

whoever mods this forum will be busy tomorrow getting rid of all the duplicate threads about the same subject, and merging posts etc.

In your opinion, what's wrong with him?

in truth...I think he is geeky and awkward looking..Tennants good looks have helped the programme...young kids are not going to identify with a floppy fringe student type in a bow tie.

If that was the case, he wouldn't have been cast. You are assuming young kids are that concerned about looks. They are quite capable of understanding that this man isn't human, that he's a 900 year old eccentric alien, how he looks and dresses is irrelevant.

That's like saying 3 year olds won't watch CBeebies because one of the presenters has no arm, because they can't identify with a disabled person.

I'd be concerned if good looks is the only thing kids were watching for.

Besides, Moffat's stories aren't always aimed at children, I'd expect a new audience to be arriving for Series Five.

”

So you would have been happy if it had been the colin baker doctor had come back last night - in his multi coloured outfit (if the outfit is irrelevant)

Smith isn't a "leading man" in any way - he is uncool, unknown and nerdy looking -
