The Doctor, Rose and Donna.

I thought it was one of the saddest part of the episode last night that he couldn't say a proper goodbye to donna and rose, donna was his best friend, rose the love of his life and he couldn't tell them who he was and neither knew what was about to happen to him, i also thought it was brilliant though that he gave donna the lottery ticket and gave her a chance to change her life something that she said she wanted to do when she first met him. he couldn't give Rose anything though just the promise that she will have a brilliant year which of course she did. It also felt very final and it will probably be the last time we see them in the show, both were brilliant characters and companions to the doctor so it was fitting they both played a part in David Tennant's final episode.

I feel slightly cheated with Donna's exit to be honest.

Had they just left her out of this, we knew that she simply couldn't know about the doctor and that was it, but to bring her back and not really resolve this was wrong imo. As was the cheat used solely as a cliffhanger between part 1 and part 2 of her remembering everything and then the Doctor revealing he had put a safety device in her head to stop her brain melting. After the last season finale, I felt Donna's story was all closed up and finalised, now it just seems to be far from resolved.

I'd have rather seen a scene between the Doctor and Donna as well, she survived what 5-10 minutes between starting to remember and the safety device kicking in, so just for us viewers, the Doctor could have said a goodbye to his best friend, we could have had one more scene of the brilliant chemistry between CT and DT and we could have had the Doctor getting a goodbye from someone really close to him.

For me it just seemed a waste having CT in the episode if she wasn't even interacting with the doctor, it was infuriating for me.

(I did like the Lottery Ticket thing though, since all of the above didn't happen, I am glad they gave her something which would likely improve her future, I'd love it if a few years down the line we meet an office worker during a storyline who has been sent by Noble Temping Agency or something)

I wondered after she had remembered and her head 'exploded' so to speak, and then suddenly it doesn't kill her , whether she then goes on to remember the Doctor, or if she had forgotten it all again.

I felt the same to be honest, it was great to see her back, but she didn't seem to have much to do in the ep. If RTD was determined not to back-pedal on her memory loss then why bring her back?

He said in part one's confidential that he couldn't have a story where Donna was just around the corner.
