Survivor: Torchwood Characters The Result
Rita's Kabin
02-01-2010
Thanks to everyone that voted in the final (or any of the other rounds) of the Torchwood Characters Survivor.

No votes were submitted by PM so, looking at the thread I declare Captain Jack Harkness the winner by a clear margin of 5 votes.

As ever, the lovely Muttley76 has provided us with one of her excellent videos:-

Later on today I'll be launching the prelude to the New Who Episodes Survivor in which you'll be able to submit your opinions for the Prediction Game. Round One of the Survivor itself will be posted on Monday.

woo hoo for Jack! The deserved winner!

This is the first time my favorite has won one of these games too, so it's doubly good!

Oh well. Tosh coming second is good enough I suppose.

No one is going to beat the star of the show so as far as i am concerned Tosh coming second (beating Gwen, Owen and Ianto !) is a far bigger victory then the Star coming first !

Great vid by the way.

Interestingly I remember prior to CoE there being quite a heated debate about whether Jack was the star of the show or a member of an ensemble cast, so I don't think it's as clear cut as all that.

It's worth noting that Jack was probably quite vulnerable to elimination up to the final because he had a lot of cumulative votes to his name, so had he tied he could well have been eliminated. Once he made the final I agree his win was fairly likely.

Glad you liked the video!

why thank you - i went back and forth with clips for the top 3. I actually think I could have put in a more cheery clip for Jack in there in retrospect, but such is life.

Personally I thought Ianto's were the best in terms of representing his character.

I think we all that Jack would win. The battle was really to see who'd come second so congratulations to Tosh.

Excellent video, Muttley, and another fantastic survivor RK.

Another great game! I think that it was always pretty likely that Jack would win (despite my efforts over many rounds to kick him *ahem*), but I'm glad Tosh is second. The scene where she is dying and tells Owen he's breaking her heart and her voice kind of cracks is the most heartbreaking thing in the show for me.

It's really weird, but Jack is so much more likeable for me in Doctor Who. Even in his cameo at the bar I liked him more. *shrug* At the same time, I don't begrudge him first place in this game, as Jack is such a big part of the show and Torchwood itself.

Looking forward to the next game, but need to take a break from the forum while I cry for a couple hours during the David Tennant special and The End of Time, Pt. 2.
