My friend pointed out to me when watching the Doctor Who series 5 trailer that from 0:52 to 0:57 a news report can be heard faintly in the background. It starts with "And in the news". The rest is muffled, but we can make out words like, "Scottish, Duke, Imprisson, Famous".

After researching I found out that the Duke of Forgill ( http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Duke_of_Forgill ) was Scottish and was imprissoned by the Zygon.

If I can remember, I think Moffat once said he was a fan of the Zygons. Could this be a news story from the classic series? Could Moffat be trying to tell us something? Or is it just a mistake from a real news story accidentally editted in?

I haven't spoiler tagged as this is only speculation

Have a listen yourselves, there is definatley something there. And its definatley a news broadcast of some sort. If Moffat has hidden something, maybe someone here can figure it out

I had to download the video and use a program to boost the sound to 400%, what I got was "And in the news .... made famous as the Duke took his place in Scottish ..."

What I can hear is "in the years since the Rangers players made it (or him) famous (Word that sounds like Dune) has taken his place amongst Scottish. . ." sound trails off.

I think it is just a mistake on the BBCs part and another broadcast has somehow (quite shamefully imo over such a major trailer) become mixed into the trailer.

You know I always thought these two were seperate entities but I was bought the Dr Who Monsters book for Christmas (Borders RIP! ) and it turns out they were working together....

Hmmm, Theres something green and sea devilly around the 18 second mark on both the official site version and the youtube link above. In fact theres two different shots in a row of what looks like two different aliens ar 18-19seconds in....

Also not posted in here in a bit, new trailer looks good though, better than the last two tennant episodes, which were a little bit of a dissapointment. Looks like they have some form of plan this time rather than throw everything in, people will watch even if it doesn't make sense since Tennant is leaving.

As the broadcast you over hear is ''..since the Rangers players made it famous the Dunes have taken their place in scottish football history...''

This is in reference to Rangers manager Jock Wallace who used to make the players train on the sand dunes of the Ayrshire coast during pre season training. I know Moffat is from Paisley but somehow I dont even think he could make a story out of this scenario. P.S. the new trailer looks amazing and am I right in saying River Song appears more than once in different outfits.....showing multiple episodic appearances perhaps?

The Doc hasn't faced Rangers fans before, so there's a first time for everything! They can lay waste to entire cities.

At 18 seconds there are two reptilian humanoids. They could easily be an updated Sea Devil and Silurian.

As for the news broadcast, I am looking too much into things, like usual

There has long been speculation about Sea Devils, Silurians and Zygons in the new series. Photos have been published of something a little bit Sea Devil ish in a graveyard. I'd happily see any or all of these return ...

I wish the BBC would sort out a HD or at least HQ version, as both the BBC video and the YouTube one are pretty blurry.

Someone on the GB forums has identified it as being Scottish presenter Neil Oliver speaking on an episode of Coast. Quite how it ended up on the soundtrack of the trailer is an unsolved mystery.

Not sure if it will turn out to be as wildly important to the plot as the "Sparrow Travel" coach was, but in the S5 trailer there's a sign (behind the three hooded figures) that may well say "Magpie Electricals".
