Outlandish, brave and surprising
The Killers - Romeo & Juliet originally by Dire Straits
Art Garfunkel - Why Worry originally by Dire Straits Elvis Presley - The Last Farewell originally by Roger Whittaker Shirley Bassey - Get the Party Started originally by P!nk Fleet Foxes - False Knight on the Road originally by Steeleye Span Whats counts amongst the most outlandish, brave, surprising and interesting covers ? I know theres a million or cover threads, but I'm interested in the successfully bizzare but good from fairly mainstream singers / bands, we can all find obscure versions. And.. Which covers would you like to hear ? and these can be obscure ! I always think its a shame that the Radio 1 Live Lounge CD's feature currently trendy artists doing their own or other trendy artists material... Mine are; Florence Welch doing The Blacksmith unaccompanied, as done by Maddy Prior... just picking up on a couple of current topics there... Dizzee Rascal doing The Youth of Today originally by Musical Youth. Amy Winehouse doing Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood Paolo Nutini doing Four Nights Drunk, the old folks song as done recently by Steeleye Span and surely its time for someone to cover Run Away by Real McCoy |
