This finale wasn't exactly filled with Daleks!

I love to see Daleks, but I'd like to see a fresh approach to Dalek stories. I thought The Last Dalek in the first series was brilliant.

Daleks weren't in the series 3 or specials finale, but the Master was. and Time Lords were in the last one aswell. and Cybermen were in the series 2 finale with the Daleks.”

Oh yes, apologies, didn't see that bit of your post!

But that's because they are iconic villains and lend themselves to the Grandness that a finale often has

Given the choice of The Slitheen fir example or Daleks,Cybermen,The Master,or The Timelords as a big bad for a series finale I know who I would choose

Depends how there used, i.e the Daleks as we know them are killed off outright in JE
Spoiler
If the story is set during WWII as reported then there are lots of fun ways they could be used

The problem with the Daleks is, like the Borg, they get lazy stories with the Daleks reduced to the equivalent of pulling funny faces and going BOO.

Apart from "Dalek", none of the episodes have managed to convey the real terror of them - and even that had a cop out ending

I agree that the Daleks need to be given a rest for a series or two but depending on how they're used I'm not going to make a big fuss about their return in the next series.

It seems the Moff has something different from the tired "millions of Daleks invading/attempting to invade Earth" scenario up his sleeve, which is good enough for me.

Yay Why not? We haven't had any Daleks for a long time

Looking forward to it, however I just hope they do something original with the Daleks, not just a repeat.

Bring back the Cybermen too!

What happened to the old Cybermen from The Doctor's dimension?

They should be kicking about somewhere, surely in the past 5 years they have tried something evil >_>

Probably caused the credit crunch by trying to corner the market in moonboots and cricket gloves.

But I must ask, how do you know it will be the same kind of storyline again? Because actually you are wrong, it isn't.

Spoiler
The Daleks have no knowledge of what they are and are being used as an army by Churchill in the 2nd World War.
”

Sorry, but they do know who they are. Before he removed his audio clips, "Alun Vega" recorded a rather exciting "reveal" scene:

Spoiler
Professor: What are you doing? You are my Ironsides!

WE ARE THE DALEKS!

Professor
: But I created you!

NO. WE CREATED YOU!

Looking forward to that!
