Nadine Coyle 'fails to sign solo deal'
DS News
Nadine Coyle has reportedly failed to sign a record contract. According to The Sun, the Girls Aloud star had hoped to produce solo material during the band's break. However, Girls Aloud's label Polydor has allegedly turned her down, while other record companies have also refused to sign her up. "Nadine had meetings but none of the Universal labels wanted to take her on," a source claimed. "She's tried to get a deal elsewhere but with no luck." However, Coyle, who has been working with Guy Chambers, has allegedly signed a deal with EMI for her songwriting. What do you think, will she have time next year as GA are reforming?! |

I hope she doesn't leave GA, she has the best voice, arguably
Mind you, if cheryl can get a solo deal, nadine must be able to.

It's already been denied! Some exciting stuff coming up, including a TV special! Quote:
Yesterday, The Sun printed an article stating Nadine Coyle did not have a record deal. I then posted it on here, mostly for archive purposes, like i always have done with every article about the girls, good or bad. http://girlsaloudblog.com/nadine-coy...-deal-article/
Most, if not all Girls Aloud fans know press stories like this are not true. We have had split articles and “she’s not friends with her” articles since Day 1 (an example of this would be today’s Daily Star about Nadine and Cheryl not being friends which im not re-posting) So a bad article like this is to be expected, especially with the Girls doing their solo projects. Nadine’s manager, Bruce Garfield has contacted me to set the record straight. The Sun did not contact him or Nadine’s publicist Barbara Charone before printing the article, so their information is misleading and un-researched. The truth is Nadine was pursued by labels from EVERY major label group and was also given the choice of signing with ANY Universal label, all of whom wanted her. Selection of a label was a very complex process and an important choice for Nadine to make. That selection has been made and the deal done. That announcement will be forthcoming shortly. Plans for the release, a tv special, live shows, and much more is already in the works. Nadine is working with top writers, Guy Chambers, Steve Brooker (Natalie Imbruglia, Duffy), Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem), Toby Gad (Beyonce, Fergie), and Tony Kanal (Gwen Stefani, Pink). All of whom rave about her superstar voice, talent and lovely personality. I want to thank Bruce for letting us know The Sun article is entirely untrue and sorry for any misunderstandings with regards to me posting the article up (as i just post whats printed, i always have). The difference with this is, the Official GA management dont always let fans know if a story in untrue so im happy i can rectify this for you. This just shows that we shouldn’t believe everything that’s in the papers! And of course, we fully support Nadine’s and the other girls solo careers, we always will and we cant wait to hear Nadine’s solo music soon. |

I found it weird she couldn''t be able to get a record deal. How can the voice of GA not get a record deal?
So is this not true? |

It is a shame they go for popularity rather than a voice. However popularity does sell.
Nadine needs to get on the tv and I am sure this would help her get a deal |

I was going to say, she has a great voice, any label would be mad not to sign her up!....atleast she has a record deal now and the publishing contract with emi, things are going well for though, atleast she has her deal with emi to fall back on too, with songwriting one can earn a fortune especially if its a huge hit, so it was smart of her to do that, so props to her for signing that deal with emi
....the selection of writers/producers sound interesting especially tony kanal from no doubt, this is definately going to be an very different sound by the looks of it to girls aloud....can't wait for the CD to come out....xo |

Representitives from "every major label" wanted her? I find that hard to believe. I smell an exageration.

She'll never have anywhere near Cheryl Coles success solo which is a shame as her voice is 1000 000 x better

Not true... Someone on Buzzjack told me they had an email from GA maillist stating Nadine's solo material would be out soon, that was two or three weeks ago.

I find the managers comments even more unbelievable than the initial story.
She's been the best singer (until recently imo since she's become almost impossible to understand with her mangled accent coming through in her voice) yet never really the most well known or popular member of the band, I'd actually go as far as placing her last in terms of general popularity within the band since she's done the least and is rarely written about other than for causing trouble within the band due to her living out in LA. How could they give her a TV Special? She'll need a LOT of diction lessons before they let her near primetime, Cheryl's accent is nothing in comparison to Nadine's awful irish/american accent. I'm not really expecting much from this, if she really was so sought after, surely there would've been some material out by now, Cheryl's had 2 singles and an album out, they could have really promoted her and Cheryl by having them release close to each other. All just sounds a lot iffy to me. |
