I don't know but I would think it is probably tics but it seems mild - sometimes he pulls his mouth in a way that may be his way of controlling it. He talks about it in this interview and sounds a really nice guy:

So this is the second AT thread i've posted in now, but along with Sisqo, i've gotta say that I LOVE JONAS! although I still keep calling him Basshunter, i'm not used to calling him Jonas!

I think he seems like just a regular, cool, guy, and he makes me laugh loads

Looks like he's gonna be in it a lot tonight, which is good!

Different strokes for different folks, but I find it hard to believe anyone could prefer someone like Ronnie Wood over Basshunter. It's like turning down an Aston Martin in favour of a decaying '83 Datsun Sunny.

It certainly does, being Swedish they get quite a bit of it over there, am now having thoughts of Jonas rolling in the snow topless! Must get my mind out of the gutter!
