My first CDs were bought in Woolies too!

I bought too at the same time (splashing out!) No Limits, by 2 Unlimited and the Jungle Book Groove Single.

Kinda Random pairing for a 4 year old. (I may have been 5 actually, both 1993 anyway)

I just got my first CD player and obviously wanted a cheap CD to try it out with. Being in a small town, the shop didn't have many, so I bizarrely ended up buying the "Salt N Pepa - Let's Talk About Sex" single.

First album was probably "Michael Jackson - Dangerous", and again it was bought for similar reasons. It had just been released, everyone in school was going on about it and I just wanted "an Album" to try out.

Needless to say, I was quite young and my musical taste hadn't yet developed.

Yeh, we used to go to St Ives every year when I was a kid for a week. I went back for a weekend this year and last year and the Woolies was still empty I think,

Anyway, I thought I'd got On Every Street when it first came out but that was '91 and I reckon I got Real McCoys Run Away during the same holiday, though it could have been the year after.

I was a late starter with CDs, we didn't bother listening to music much at home and dad kept the Wharfedale record and tape stereo system, which were meant to be good ones back then. Its only when dad changed his car around 1990 and it came fitted with a CD player did we start to buy CDs.

I remember the 1st CD I bought. I ordered it at the time from a website because I was so excited to see a Morten Harket Solo album on sale which I hadn't seen in shops. It was only after I ordered it that I realised I didn't have a CD player.
So when it came I had to borrow my Mums to copy it on to tape. I think it was another 2 years until I finally bought a CD player of my own so could listen to it in it's propper form.

Y'know, I can't actually remember my first CD, I've got several thousand of the buggers, but the first one I actually bought remains a hazy blank......it might have been 'Good Morning Spider' by Sparklehorse, but I can't be sure.

First album on vinyl is easier (I was a kid, and shelling out for an album was a BIG deal); 'Powerage' by AC/DC

First cassette album; 'The Rise and Fall' by Madness

First mp3 album; I don't believe in paying money for mp3s. It feels icky.

That's uncanny, my first LP's were Salt n' Pepa Greatest Hits and Michael Jackson - Dangerous... and Snap - World Power. I don't think they were bad choices personally.

My first CD was Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith

probably Marshal Mathers LP, not a bad one really.

I bought tons of singles before this though, but that was my first album (non pirated).

It was either "Stan" by Eminem (the only single I've ever bought) or a 2CD dance compilation. I can't remember what it was called but the first track was "Feel the Beat" by Darude.
