Why is it? who knows, perhaps RTD has plans for Alonso, joining TW is one theory.

As much as I adore Russell Tovey, I really, really hope he doesn't join Torchwood as in my opinion, he just doesn't fit that role. He's fantastic in Being Human but for Torchwood he's just... I dunno... His character Alonso seems too kind... too nice... but who knows!

Well he would replace Ianto nicely.I think really he is just the link between the end of the last TW and potentially the next series, we needed to see how Jack was going to get over killing his grandson, and by falling in love and having somone else who needs him, he may get over what he has done and accept its time to go back to TW.

He shouldn't have to replace Ianto at all... I don't even want to consider him as a replacement... Somebody else to share comfort with etc to help Jack move on perhaps, but to be a replacement for a character that so deeply affected Jack- that's just not fair.

If it did happen, and I am not convinced it would, it would be how Jacks life is, he loses everyone in the end, his wife, Ianto, and probably dozens more lovers over the years. It is part of the curse of his immortality.

Still, it seems too soon to 'replace' Ianto, especially in a scene less then a minute long. GRR RTD! Haha!

We dont know how long Jack had been wandering the stars though, could have been months, he will eventually have to come back down to earth and get on with his never ending life.

I enjoyed the scene, it was like the Star Wars bar scene, all those strange creatures and the little Adipose falling off the bar
Jacks deserves a little bit of love, he is devastated , and Alonso will be someone to ground him again, whether it lasts or not.
