In Shapeshifters "lola's theme" when the scenes keep switching from different people on the fairground, in the shots drag queens frequently appear.

Even though it was all a marketing ploy - Tatu "all the things she said".

In the Black Eyed Peas video for 'I Gotta Feeling' Fergie is dancing with girls provocatively and there is also a quick 2 second flash of two girls kissing in the bathroom near the middle/end of the video

Take That's earlier stuff was targeted towards the gay market (but this seems to be kept quiet after they became big with teenage girls), and the videos are pretty stereotypical of what people think gay men like.

There's no direct reference to homosexuality, but the video for Do What You Like is clearly aimed at gay men, so is kind of stereotyped into what gay men would want.

Another example is George Michael - Outside. It's about him being caught "cottaging" in a public toilet.

Most of these videos featuring two men or two women snogging are usually just to get a reaction (there's exceptions, though).

In John Legend's video for 'Everybody Knows' it features a lesbian couple

The video to The Tamperer's 1998 number 1 'Feel It' depicts an ostensibly heterosexual tale of lustful desire, with a cheeky (not those kind of cheeks) gay twist as the pay-off.

Some of the Pet Shop Boys' videos are, erm, less than latently dripping with homoerotic suggestiveness, particularly Domino Dancing.

I have to look at serveral different types of media, one being music videos. But I can't find any homosexual representation in music videos.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks”

Do you mean gay men / lesbians / or both?
Some ideas for you...

It might be interesting to cover ambiguity re: sexuality in music videos. You could bring in Madonna's 'Vogue', Annie Lennox, Mika, Lady GaGa etc...

Any way, for me, the obvious to mention include...

Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Culture Club
Erasure
Jimmy Sommerville / Bronski Beat / Communards
Queen

Totally agree. The representation of gay men in the mainstream vs the fringe (i.e. Jimmy Sommerville).

IIRC, Placebo's 'Every You Every Me' video has a quick lesbian kiss in it.

Ooh and I'm pretty sure Taste In Men has bisexual references also.

I used to watch these videos all the time but now I can barely remember them.

Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye" features a gay kiss across the side of the jaw, and scenes of apparent longing between multiple men.

you could look at US acts Indigo Girls and Melissa Etheridge - both lesbian acts and have representation in many of their videos.

I admired Steven for that

I wonder if Lambert will dare have a guy on guy action in his future videos.

There's a gay couple in Britney's "Piece of Me" and "3" is about threesomes so while she is dancing with the 2 male dancers surely that's a reference?

If you're looking for ambiguity, there's this. From the mid 90s/britpop ish era.

In regards to EYEM, theres two different versions - one including scenes from Cruel Intentions which might have the kiss between Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar in it, but I cant really remember.

Taste In Men though definitely has a storyline within it where there is some sort of adulterous affair happening but the audience is not sure if it is between two guys or if the girl is involved.

Nancy Boy though...despite the title I can't remember anything of homosexual reference.

I nominate John Barrowman - think its called What About Us?
Bronski Beat - Small Town Boy is a good one too, all about intolerance and hiding one's sexuality.

i'm not sure if this counts, or if it could help your point in any way but what about the prodigy's "smack my bitch up"?

just because the viewer is lead to suppose the character whose POV we're watching is male, and behaving in a typical bloke-wasted-on-a-saturday-night sort of way ("interacting" with women ,for example) and then is revealed at the end to be female - so maybe that one could help as it implies the women is a lesbian or bisexual, and could tie in with sexuality/gender-based assumptions and stereotypes?
