Ood

Im not 100% sure if we got to find out why the ood were evolving so quickly, and this got me thinking...

Will the ood become an enemy of the doctor in the future? They seem to be more advanced than the doctor gave them credit for, and I think they have the making of a potential good nemesis...

Thoughts?

It depends how they're used. They were manipulated by the Devil in Satan Pit/Impossible Planet but really they're a peaceful species. So for me they've already proved they can be a dangerous and quite a scary nemesis.

I guess they proved to be bad under the influence (Red Eye, and the devil) but of their own accord?

How did they travel time to summon the Doctor? How have the developed so quickly?

They could see through time, because time itself was bleeding.

I didn't think they travelled through time, I thought that they used their telepathy to project visions to the doctor, a bit like more advanced psychic paper?

They always seemed to be very intelligent beings who were enslaved rather than stupid beings who were set free and developed quickly.

That's what I was saying. It's the potential for them to be used for evil under captivity that makes them so scary. I wasn't too fond of them when they first appeared but I like how they were used towards the end of the RTD era and they came to be one of the Doctor's greatest allies.

I love the Ood so hope we see them again. One of the best alien species to be created for new Who. I think they have a lot of potential (though I don't think their inclusion in TEoT was particularly necessary.)
