So sorry to hear Douglas is still missing. If it was the summer time then it may not be such a worry but as it's very cold then it's a concern.

You have done all you can. I used to shake a box of go cat or whatever really loudly when mine had been gone for a while. My female cat went missing not long ago during storms for 2 days and nights then comes in all wet and bedraggled wanting feeding. Cats in general have good self survival instincts and they can survive without food for a while if they have to. Very worrying I know though.

Phone them up again and again. I was told this by a rescue people who find cats might not report that they have found them straight away. Dont want too say this but ask the council if they have found anything. I am so sure that they both will come back. I can put any of your lost cats on my cat forum as well. Put a advert in the paper also try facebook and preloved. Like i say pm me and i will help as much as i can.

I know its very easy for all of us to say dont worry because you will.

Just remember that cats are very clever at finding warm places to hide. They can go without food for several days and survive.

I know that NOTHING that anyone says will make you feel any better. And you wont be able to stop thinking about your cat until its home. Please have faith in your cat and trust that it will return home soon. It loves you and wont forget that.

Please keep us posted on the progress as we are all interested to know.

Big hug!

Good luck with finding both the cats. I know it's worrying when they wander off because my old cat used to disappear for two or three days and then just suddenly turn up. I hope both the cats return soon.

Yeah that's true. My last cat went missing and everytime me or my family came up the road, they'd say that they'd been looking. The little girl I babysit even came up to me to recite the poster to me because she'd learnt what it said

When my cat went missing a few weeks ago I waited until it was late at night so it was quiter and I walked around jangling one of his toys with a bell attached and calling out his name, I could hear his meow and eventually found him stuck in an old bramble bush.

Walk about calling you cats names and listen for the meow incase they are shut in somewhere

So sorry to hear about the missing cats.

We found a cat once and put an advert in the "found" column of the local paper "owner to identify". Lots of people rang but did not describe the cat so we did keep her.

You have been given very useful information. I would print off a picture of your cat giving details of the cat's name, the area the cat is lost from, when the cat went missing and landline and mobile phone numbers.

I would take a copy to all pet shops and vet practices in the area, ask any shops to put a copy up in the shop window. Charity shops are very good at putting a poster up and the library.

How mean of the council - I helped to find a cat here and I taped posters around telegraph poles and lamp posts (in Derbyshire).

Have you any news at all - I have my fingers crossed and the budgie his wings. Take care.

Douglas hasn't come back yet either.

Even though he has been neutered he may have got the scent of a female in season and will suddenly turn up again. Douglas may be just a few gardens away and will be turning up at home when he`s ready to. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Don't give up hope cat's are so clever and they could have found somewhere cosy and are just waiting for the weather to clear before making a dash for home.

Still AWOL.

They must have found somewhere to shelter - someone has likely taken them in and will return after the thaw.

Excellent news about Douglas. What kind of condition was he in? Was he hungry? Just curious and useful for you to know if he may have been kept indoors by a neighbour or refuge in a shed or something, in case he goes awol again.
