The Kate on Rise thread was certainly a monster and there was all sorts of stuff on there.............

But it was mainly a 'game' - it was schoolyard football, lets pick two teams and have a kickabout. Given that it went on for six months, it was remarkable how little 'real' hostility was shown..............most of us knew it was only a game.

never was

you seem a little innocent of matters

fun and games is one thing-vindictive and totally inaccurate slagging off is just pure evil.

it seemed pretty hostile toward Kate

and the game as you call it seemed to involve one side being hopelessly outnumbered and bullied al the time by the bigger team.

Well I've never ever felt bullied, but then, I've got a couple of big brothers.

Perhaps it did seem a little hostile towards Kate at times (although I would say 'hostile' is far too strong a word), but not towards those who support Kate. That is an important distinction. Kate is a legitimate target; other FMs are not. The vast majority of FMs understand this and adhere to it.

Some people who came in in the middle of The Office mistook it for a fly-on-the-wall documentary, while those of us who had been with it from the start knew it was in fact a comedy about a fly-on-the-wall documentary.

a "little" hostile-backtracking a bit arn't we? do you regret some postings now then?

same thing.

I do not accept that Kate is "a legitimate target"-she is a person with feelings -the same as any one-and she is trying to do a job OK?
And if she succeeds there is more chance for other BB people as well.

oh it was just a laugh was it-just a bit of banter? well sorry I can't understand your banter old fruit. And i suspect you are fawlty.

Anyone who courts publicity is a legitimate target for criticism, by putting themselves or allowing themselves to become known to the wider public they know and expect to be pillaried and hopefully praised, the fact that being pillaried by the press invariably sells more copy is exactly why the press do that!
