I hope MI5 aren't reading this, as I'm on the run with a stolen rug, and I may give them some information as to who I am, but I used to run a pub in wales, and Quando was the pub song, punters used to belt it out young and old when it came on the jukebox, classic.

A friend of mine's dad used to tell a great story about how he was hiking in the Lake District once, and he went into a pub for lunch, where Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones were getting p*ssed. (This isn't a joke- as far as I know, it was real- they were mates, after all). It's kind of a long story, but essentially Tom Jones was being an absolute d1ck, and trying to get him kicked out (he was the only other person there) because it was their pub, and he wasn't signing autographs. My mate's dad kept saying he didn't WANT TJ's autograph, which just made TJ angrier... eventually EH came over, apologised for Tom's drunken behaviour, and bought him a pint.
I really HOPE that's true, because it's the most awesome anecdote I've ever heard. |

There's this, but I think TT actually played live with them a few times as well. |

I'm a big fan of 60's music and have all sorts of stuff from that era. One is the best of EH. It's OK for a bit of easy listening. He had a great voice.
Not old enough to remember it's original release in 1966 but my Dad told me he hated 'Release Me' after a while as it was playing in every pub he went into in London. It became a sort if running joke with him and his mates. |

I love 60's music, and while Engelbert isn't high on my list of favourite singers I do ahev about 3 or 4 tracks of his on my iPod. My mum was fan, which is possibly where I picked it up from. Damn her.
