funnily enough, my first ever boyfriend was called Gerry Dorsey, he was born in 1936 - but in Penang, Malaysia

He loved to boast about the connection though .......... pratt

He was 36 and I was only 18 - yeah, yeah I know now (you live & learn)

please note - a good use of the 'roll-eyes' smiley

Me and my mates got quite into cheesy 60s stuff back in the mid 90s.

I remember one new years bash with Quando belting out when the police knocked at the door saying 'Could you turn Englebert down sir? We could hear him from Brentford nick'!

Engelbert takes me right back to the 70's.
My grandmother making soup on a saturday morning and me playing at being a baker and melting plasticine on top of her electric fire.

I just know I will not be able to get 'The Last Waltz' out of my head tomorrow.

My cat has moved to the other room now.

When I was a kid and we had an old fashioned record player, 'Save the last dance for me' was one of our few records.

We also had Tom Jones' 'It's not Unusual' .... Val Doonigan's 'Elusive butterfly of love' ... Jumping Jack Flash ... Petula Clarke singing something or other ... and, remarkably, Michael Jackson's 'I want you back' !

Replying to this post made me realise how MJ was part of my growing up

RIP
