It's also worth noting that the cost of a single in the 70s in today's money would be £3...so music has never been cheaper than before. And yet a multitude of bellends still whinge about the cost of it...

I can't respect the opinion of anyone who writes a song which has the words:

"hey sexy boots.

Get on your boots. Yeah"

I see that you're a fan of Aguliera. To me she screeches like a cat in pain but, whatever.

Here are her inspired lyrics for Candy Man:

Tarzan and Jane swingin' from a vine
Candy man, candy man
Sippin' from a bottle of vodka double wine

Ouch

Wow, I must say Aguilera really has a talent for words..but I guess some of her songs appeal more than others, no? I'm sure she has views on many things but based on those lyrics her opinions don't really garner much respect, do they

BTW, I wasn't a fan of 'Get On Your Boots' but it rocked at Wembley 1 & 2

Is that true?

As true musical legend Keith Richards said artists should take it as a compliment that their work is pirated as throughout the annals of history, for thousands of years anything that has been pirated has had some intrinsic value to somebody.

Lmao.

I'm not an Aguilera fan at all. Youve taken my "liking" from a post I made as an insult to that other douche bag. I'm a rock and roll fan but I appreciate her vocal talent in relation to Lady Gaga. (which is what I was talking about when you took my "like Aguilera" out of context.

Don't know many of Christinas songs.

Bono can't be listened to. Lost himself up his own arse about 15 years ago. Hasn't been seen since.

He needs to get his boots. His sexy boots. Yeah. And go to the arctic where I don't have to listen to his constant dirge of music , political views or uber-hypocritical views on just about EVERYTHING he opens his mouth to talk about.

Their last album this March? Or am I to believe you sat down, gave it a fair chance and listened to all 11 tracks 2-3 times to make a valid judgement?

Nah, course not, Bono's that **** who flew some hat overseas remember?
Or maybe, just maybe, and this will be shocking to you I know, but it's possible he holds a different opinion to you and doesnt like what you like....

I should add I'm not dismissing good material he writes. I like "I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight" and I like about 7 songs off atomic bomb (one of my favourite albums).

But the hypocrisy of the man means I dislike him on a personal level - I'm not a U2 hater which my original post may have implied. (saying that I'm not a fan either except for a few songs and the album mentioned).

To get back on topic, currently the music industry pay to track an illegal downloader, they're wanting to pass some of this cost over by getting the ISPs to do some of the work which will result in me who doesn't do any illegal downloading having to pay this cost, which is totally out of order.

There is now no excluses to illegally download, there are loads of legal ways to try out music before buy and the cost of downloads/cds are affordable.

The music industry needs to put their efforts into increasing the availability of the music available to buy like drm free, fairuse to allow transfers between devices for the owners personal use

As to dealing with illegal downloads, well that's the industries problem to figure out, just don't use the BB fee I pay my ISP to pay for you to figure out how to sort the problem out

Examples need to be made.

Come down hard on a few (thousands) individuals and the rest will be afraid to do the same.

There is NO excuse for downloading a song illegally. It's affordable and it's VERY simple. Massive amounts of work go into an album, the artists, producers, publicists, mixers all deserve their slice of the pie because they've worked for it.

People don't see downloading a song off limewire as illegal...they think "oh it's not that bad" but it is. If you don't want to pay the fee for a song - then you are not allowed that material. Just because it's something you download to put on your iPhone doesn't mean it's not real, and thus it's not stealing. Because something is downloadable and you don't have to walk into HMV to steal it - doesn't mean you're entitled to it. It's really quite simple.

Yes

You guys better before, there are currently organisations that solely concentrate on tracking pirates.

What they do is place dummy files on torrent sites, just SAY!
Once a client connects they lOG your IP Address, once done

They can even take it further, but remotely monitoring your connection

SO BEWARE!
