I've always fancied a Radiohead bear. Then again, this has just put me off!

In a word no, but to be fair i don't really have a favourite band with like a symbol i would want to use.

However i remember always wanting to have the symbol of the tv series Charmed, however now i'm glad i never bothered lol.

I probably wouldn't get a tattoo period, because I hate needles and pain.

If I was gonna get one though, I wouldn't be overly opposed to getting something band related, but only if it was very subtle, like a line from a song or an obscure-ish symbol... I wouldn't get anything obvious/hideous, like their faces, tattooed on me!

I'd never get a tattoo, full stop!

I'd never do it. Tattoos of people look ugly and they're permanent so if something happens with the celeb (they kill someone, they turn funny, you decide you don't like them anymore) you're screwed.

I bet anyone who got Gary Glitter tattooed on their bodies are regretting it now.

No - I'm not enough of a fan of anyone to have their image drawn badly (and indelibly) onto me...

I'm not into tattoos but if I was I'd have an old cartton style pic of Gwen Stefani from one of the old No Doubt album covers.

I've been thinking about possibly getting a small Lady Gaga style lighting bolt on my wrist. I would never get a big one that covers half your arm, leg or what ever or anything, the reason I wanted the lighting bolt small was so I could cover it up with a watch. Doubt I will though Im not into pain.

I've got a teeny weeny one of the green day kerplunk flower

I was 16 or 17 at the time and obsessed with them.

Not so much any more... Tis only small though.

EDIT: Some people have said it reminds them of Bill and Ben the flower pot men....which is shameful...

When i went to see Beyonce she picked someone out of the crowd who had her name across his chest. I think its a bit stupid, in a few years you probably wont be that bothered about the artist anymore or they will have disappeard off the planet.

I've been considering this as well. I think it's nice, because not everyone is going to know what it is; it's not like your having RADIOHEAD tattooed on your arm. I did meet someone who had MUSE across their wrist Im a massive massive fan, but I wouldn't be doing that to myself. What if you go off them in a few years?!

For most artists I would agree, but I do think Beyonce will be around for decades to come. Not that I would get her name tattooed across my chest however.

My Cheeky Girls tattoo will always be with me though

I have a billy bragg reference on my upper arm, I am planning one day to get the cover of heavy petting zoo by nofx done and a pixies lyric as well, I think the pixies lyric will be this year as I am going to see a tattooist in a week or two.

I've got "Turn off the lights, and I'll glow" from Ice, Ice Baby tattooed down my forearm in UV ink. Its practically unnoticeable in normal light, but glows very brighly under a UV/Black light.

I got it because I love the song, its not going to ruin any career prospects, and its quite an accurate reference!

sadly, no UV photo, as usually drunk when around a UV light. tattoo still healing in that photo, but now (6 months later) its basically unnoticeable

I met this person once who had 'Enter' on one wrist and 'Shikari' on the other. Put me off having a band tattoo...

If you're gonna do that, at least pick a decent band.

For many years I have been half decided about one like this:

http://i34.tinypic.com/2wehyev.jpg

It is the Crest emblem for Queen (designed by Freddie Mercury) and back in 1995 I met a girl from Israel with one on her upper arm/shoulder.
I still feel I may get one someday - smaller than the one pictured and probably without colour and a simpler version.

omg LOL! i adore that band but would never dream of something like that haha.

i am getting a radiohead one though i love them soo much and have done since i was 11, nothing they could do would ever put me off their music its probably my greatest love! im getting a lyric on my upper arm underneath, although keep swaying on lyric choice!

speaking of lols...back in 2002 when i went to see the vines, i met some girl who had just met craig nicholls and got his autograph on her hip. when i saw her at the following days gig, she'd got it tattooed over

ive enquired a few times over the years about UV tattoos because of the reasons you entioned but ive always been told that the ink is not safe. has this changed now?

5 years ago I got a Green Day tattoo (after 5 years of being a fan)
It's the Nimrod lettering on my back with a star either side ("Better thank your lucky stars")
And I still love it and still love the band.

It's now ten years of me being a fan, seen them live 13 times, got two more booked and I'm gonna get my second Green Day tattoo at some point this year to mark the decade!

Don't regret it at all, as I'm so passionate about the band. I love their songs, their lyrics, their live performances....just everything.

I understand some people don't get it. I think you have to be such a fan....a fanatic really, and a fan of the actual music, rather than just liking a few songs.

I have a Floyd tattoo: http://www.elite.uk.com/gallery/album23/aae

A girl I know had a cover job after regretting a Wildhearts tattoo and my best friend isn't terribly fond of her Therapy? one (both had these done as teenagers).
I thought carefully about mine for a decade before getting it.
