I love watching this show. Went to Trump Tower a few months ago, but I'd never seen the show and didn't realise the significance.
It's not all that its cracked up to be in the show. 'Trump Grill' was empty. The lobby was very quiet, nearly every shop had closed down completely and the place seemed to be getting quite old. We went up to the top of the escalators and out into the garden and its quite run down really. They have a little cart selling Apprentice and Trump merchandise in the atrium which made me laugh. Was nice to see it though and you could tell that maybe in the 80s it would have been very impressive. |

Just finished watching Ep 3 and 4.
I thought the right person went in Ep 3. Theresa had no overall concept and refused to listen to her team. Yes the golf was bad, but she dismissed Dr Will's (Tarik?) suggestion of getting astro-turf (I was surprised that he didn't bring this up in the board room). Yes, the comedienne was out of place, but she didn't step in to end it the moment this became obvious. And she was the one who gave the models 20 minutes to learn about the car. Given that promoting the car was an essential part of the task, this should never have been left to the models, and definitely not left to the last minute like it was. I thought the wrong person went in Ep 4. I don't particularly like Brent, but he should never have been fired. He wasn't the person who lost the task. Sure, he didn't contribute, but that wasn't down to him, that was down to the team leader and the team as a whole choosing not to give him any responsibilities. Yes, he didn't handle himself well in the Boardroom, but given the way his team has ostracised him and ganged up against him from the very first moments of task 1, I personally think he can be forgiven for his outburst. So if I was DT, I wouldn't have fired him, but I would have done an Alan Sugar and mixed the teams up, swopping Brent with someone from the other team. Or kept Brent but forced him to be the team leader on the next show, to give him the chance to either sink or swim. I think that the team leader should have gone instead of Brent. She really should have realised that the concept was too busy for a billboard campaign, and that the slogan just wasn't workable. She should also have utilised her full team, instead of keeping one team member out on a limb. And yes, I do think her comments about why Brent couldn't do the presentation were inappropriate. If he was asking to be the model for the campaign, that would be one thing, but his weight should never have been an issue for simply giving the presentation. |

I would guess the production people and on show psychologists probably suggested it was time for Brent to go for his own sake. He clearly has "issue's" and this nasty, stressful, bitchy enviroment was unsuited to his personality.
Yes, technically DT made the wrong decision because he wasn't responsible for the teams loss, but in the bigger picture it was probably the right decision, for Brent. |

The problem with firing Brent this week is we haven't a clue what skills he has or hasn't got as he was always cut off mid-flow. For all we know he may have done a brilliant presentation. Most of them seem to get off on having someone they can all gang up to pick on - wonder who it'll be next. Bitchy, cliquey lot. |

I have to agree with the previous posters about Brent, personally I think Trump should have made him team leader for the next task that would have been fairer and he would have seen if he was useless or not and could justify firing him if he was, which I don't think he could after this task.
Edit: Must learn to type shorter sentences.

i watched both episodes ..brent self imploded in the last ..
I also thought that the editing turned against him. Generally each episode is edited to make Trump look good, and since Brent was fired he had to look bad. For example, it showed him being late to start in the morning, through being late into the shower. They all have to share rooms and showers, so I suspect he was late because the others pushed him to the back. The edit also included shots of him eating etc, which it didn't need to do. I agree with NightSwimmer; Sugar would have handled it better. Trump is the worst thing about this series. When the two Jewish guys took a day off, it would have been possible to switch the teams so they were still even, rather than one team being two men down. Instead, Trump seemed to relish the unfairness. I daresay it contributed to that team losing. Incidentally, Brent mentioned not getting to bed until 4:30am, and then starting before 8am the next day. This is a reminder of how little sleep they get, and helps explain how some of them have been close to tears, and why the two guys getting a day off rankled. |

I don't think Charmaine deserved to be brought into the boardroom.
Theresa probably should have been fired, but I also felt she was mediocre rather than terrible. She got something done, even if it wasn't as good as the other team's. She was unlucky to be 2 men down from the start, and then few people on her team seemed to be on the ball. I have to say I'm mildly impressed by how Andrea went from being in tears (at Brent's return), to taking on Team Leader and winning. Likewise Charmaine was near tears at being told Trump would have fired her instead of Theresa, and she too took on the leadership role and got a deserved win. |

I thought she deserved to be there more than Lenny. Especially as the problems Lenny caused did get sorted, so they didn't contribute much to the fail. However, I agree Charmaine shouldn't be fired.

Andrea and Charmaine's tears t strength doesn't impress me at all. Firstly you never know how much time has passed. They could have been crying Tuesday night and then the next day shpwn on TV was actually Thursday or Friday morning. Also I have an instant distrust of crying on these kind of shows. It could be true but it could be for the cameras. |

Why is Trump gunning for Lenny - he got the concept wrong but everyone agreed it and they excuted it so it worked worse. He also got the main point about the need for audio on the advert right when Tareq and Dan didn't? Tareq is pretty clearly dangerously wrong too often?

Lenny should have developed a pressing need to celebrate Yom Kippur as soon as he knew Trump was gunning for him.

Aaaarrrggghhh.....The Trump dancing! Like watching hairy jello on a train.
Kinda shaming that the Brit is as fluent in bullshit as the Yanks are. |

Trump doesn't get maths or like being manouvered does he. Bryce didn't want to bring two people back but thought he had to - so he brought one who Trump couldn't fire and he also pointed out that even alowing for mistakes the others had all done more and better than Lenny. Trump just doesn't get it. Who would you invest with or work for?

What is it with creative tasks this season. Last 3 tasks have been design a billboard, design a TV commercial and design a jingle?
Also, given that Jewish New Year is 2 days and Yom Kippur only 1 day, surely Donald could have scheduled the tasks for those 2 weeks on a different day to avoid the clash. |

I don't get the impression that despite Trumps very reasonable front, that the reality of the stress and demands working for him and his organisation, especially in NYCity would be anything less than full on. I'm imagining a key presentation meeting being set up and then one of the team says 'Sorry, I can't work the day before and help with the preparation because its a religious holiday'. Maybe, this whole topic has been engineered re: the dates, to create another aspect of discussion on the programme. But then maybe I'm wrong about the workplace in NYC. Perhaps with the array of nationalities, ethnicities and religions represented in the City, actually what Lee is doing is quite normal there? |

To skip nearly half the competititon for religious reasons and thus getting a free pass shouldn't be allowed on a show like this. If it's such a huge issue for him, he probably shouldn't have applied in the first place.

I recorded the last 2 episodes and the timing was slightly off. Can anyone tell me who got fired for the jingle task? My recording went blank in the final boardroom scene - very frustrating!
Thanks |
