Kesha's new album is looking set to top the billboard hot 100, not this week but next.
Album already at top of ITUNES chart in USA

Reviewers mainly giving it average ratings at around 3/5

Judging by the reviews i'd say Ke$ha will be more of a singles artist than albums.

i'm kinda shocked that she;s doing this well. Tik Tok's a great song but not one that would make me think, god i should get that album.

Not everyone buys albums off whether the reviewer enjoys it all not. Its all down to personal preference. In my opinion her music is very catchy and fun to listen to but others may not have the same views as me.
Her whole album was made available to listen to on her MySpace page the other day so people in the US who have bought it have probably already listened to every song on it already, this is probably one of the reasons why its proven very popular already.

Believe me, 'TiK ToK' is nowhere near the only good - or even best - song on the album. 'Your Love Is My Drug' is my favourite and a Number One waiting to happen, while 'Kiss N Tell', 'Blah Blah Blah' and 'Party In A Rich Dude's House' are also damn good songs, if a little similar in theme and pace to each other. Plus it's not all in your face moments, there's some more "tender" stuff on there (without leaning towards sickly, syrupy ballad territory). I'm pretty sure it'll be one of my best albums of 2010 at the end of the year.

I've listened to her album on her myspace, it just sounds like she's copped all the beats from GAGA

Sounds very similar to GAGA's sound. anyway good luck to her.

She says it Ke$ha time, but do you remember It's Chico Time

I listened to the album last night on her Myspace, and she has at least 4 songs that are just begging to be released as singles. The rest of the album is solid too.

These days singles are more important then ever when it comes to selling albums, and Ke$ha has plenty of those.

I absolutely love her!
Her album is fantastic and she is just feisty and fun!
She brings more fun back .
I hate the GaGa comparisons. I am pretty sure now anyone with fun and poppy beats is a GaGa wannabe? Blekh!
Her album is fantastic! Don't really like 'Stephen', but the rest are lovely!

There’s enough profanity to earn her one of those coveted parental advisory stickers and her disdain for men unless they are servicing her is a bit overdone and contradictory when sandwiched in between her heart sick break up songs. But what’s good for the goose I suppose.

Anyway, unless you are a 19 year old college girl with a taste for hard liquor, casual sex and partying til you puke, you probably won’t like this, nor should you. But the college crowd will enjoy. It’s a nice soundtrack for beer pong.

I don't think she's overrated at all. There was hardly any promotion for her and Tik Tok apart from bits and pieces of radio.
And Timperry I find your comment about the types of people who will enjoy the album quite rude.

Your Love Is My Drug is the stand-out for me. A lot of the songs blur together for me to be honest.

It's rare that I dislike a song so much to make me change the radio station or switch it off, I normally just endure the 4 or 5 minutes it lasts, but Tik Tok is one that I just cannot bare to even have as background music.

How is she set for No.1? You hav no figures to back this up, as her physical album is out tomorrow in the States and it matters more how that fairs and we get no figure for that til Wednesday night when the estimates are announced!

I'm not saying she won't be! But, so many folks who are no.1 on iTunes for albums DON'T hit number one on the Billboard 200!

If her album was to go to #1, don't u think thats ridiculous after just 1 song release

Not really, it just shows she's popular.
Many other artists release albums after one single. Take Lady GaGa for example, she released The Fame after Just Dance came out and although it didn't get to number 1 straight away it debuted at #3 and sold very well.

No really, when albums in January need to sell like 60, 000-70,000 to be no.1. Aka anyone can get one lol, hence why this is the best time to release it !

Why does it matter if it happens after 1 song or 2, people obviously like her enough if it does indeed happen. Some people can sell albums after just one hit single, others can't even after 2 *ahem"
