Queen - Stone Cold Crazy. It's only about 2 and a half minutes long, could've easily been stretched to about 5 since it's a great track.

Seven Seas Of Rhye(sp) - Queen. - just over 3 minutes long I think. Great track
also, Songbird by Oasis springs to mind - just over 2 minutes long.
Hayley Williams (Paramore) recorded a song (I believe it's a demo) a few years ago called 'Teenagers'. I love it. Recently used in the film Jennifer's Body.

I've just acquired the much-coveted CD edition of Hazell Dean's debut album Heart First, and have realised for the first time that nearly all the tracks are little more than 3 minutes - the beats and arrangements are sufficiently agreeable and infectious that I would have been more than happy for the cuts to have been stretched out with more bridge and instrumentals.

The Pixies - Alec Eiffel, just under 3 minutes long, fantastic track.

I think short songs are better, means you re-listen to them a lot more & get really famililar with it..I would listen to a 9 minute song once and then not listen to it for a long time after tbh

This. Definitely this!

And The Beatles in general sprang to mind - a lot of their songs were quite short. Twist & Shout, for example.

Agree.
I always want more of that!
And The Incredible String Band's "Son Of Noah's Brother" is a criminally short 16 seconds.

The Beach Boys made some very short songs on the "B" side of there big hits and said that was due to the "A" side being very long. I remember "Well Your Welcome" which had a big base drum sound as it's backing, lasted about 1min.

Did you know Janis Joplin gave Doctor Who his big long brown coat? Sorry, this is one of my geeky little facts I have amassed over the years

But one song that I do love that is far too short is Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys, it's only 2:57

And Can't Take It by The All-American Rejects is only 2:51. It should be longer. It's an amazing angry song.
