My thoughts too BUT...
Here is a 'video' featuring the two studio versions of WWRY.
The first version is the usual style (but not the single/album version) and the second part is the 'fast' version in Maida Vale studios 1977
There is a stand alone second version on Youtube somewhere but I can never find it LOL.

People Are Strange, the Doors...compared to a lot of their other famous songs, Its incredibly short.

Junk, Paul McCartney...just under 2 minutes and a great little song, could've been a lot longer, more like an Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey type song...Im gonna get a lynching for that.

Two Sisters, the Kink...also just under 2 minutes but a sweet little song.

Norwegian Wood is short, but it seems longer...however for a Beatles song I'd nominate And Your Bird Can Sing as well as It's Only Love...the pair are way too short.

arbeit macht frei (1.14) - the libertines

...but i kind of like that the last two are so short.”

It's better short though. Apparently when they first heard it Rough Trade bosses said "Where's the rest of the song?"

Hmmm.
That is from the musical though, and is live.
The one I provided was actually by Queen in the studio
I have not seen the musical, and am not too bothered by the musicians they use. I own a Burns Brian May guitar myself (as does my OH except hers is a BMG model) but there is nothing on earth like Mr May himself playing (along with Taylor and Deacon of course).

Thanks though, I shall add that to my 'instrumentals' collection because it is such a great tune and I prefer the fast version to the single/album version by miles.

Canada?
I never knew it was Canada. I thought it was here in the UK.
I know that he sold the property some years back for a reported £6m.
But yeah, JD was VERY pissed off in that and the Spread Your Wings video (same day and location).
The director also kept forgetting Brian's name

I was trying to find the standalone one you referred to, or at least, a standalone one.

Thanks, I do appreciate your efforts .
I suppose in fairness it is kind of off topic for this thread anyway because the fast version is no longer than the 'slow' version
I have it on mp3 but I can never find it on YT - I know it IS there which is partly why I have not posted it myself.
Besides, I have an aversion to posting Queen material on YT for some reason. I am sure that Dave R Fuller bloke must have some kind of special 'relationship' with the company (QPL) in order for him to be 'allowed' to post so very much of their rare stuff.

Sorry for going off topic everyone.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- Pretty Little Ditty

Most of the RAMONES output...

I always get The Who's "There's a Doctor" stuck in my head and assume it's a much longer song, forgetting in fact it's a bridge between scenes in Tommy rather than a song of its own right *sigh*
Should've made a song out of that one

Oh yeah, Stairway to heaven, that could be about 10 mins longer surely?

Bruce Springsteen- I'm on Fire
The Byrds- Mr Tamborine Man

Closer by Kings of Leon. Could have at least gone on for another minute. If you listen to the track you'll know what I mean.
