The Best Post Break Up Beatles Album Ever
Manic Miner
06-01-2010
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGLMru-3uWk&NR=1 Good idea this... what would be your Best Beatles Post Break Up Ever Album tracklist ? (ie from their single-ish work). Havent thought much about this so will probably edit, but lets try a 12 track album...
A-Side (Vinyl)
1./ Pipes Of Peace... McCartney
2./ Instant Karma... Lennon
3./ 1985... McCartney
4./ My Sweet Lord... Harrison
5./ Mind Games... Lennon
6./ Hey Baby... Ringo (just seen this on you tube, good fun)
B-Side
1./ Live and Let Die... McCartney
2./ Got My Mind Set On You...Harrison
3./ Just Like Starting Over... Lennon
4./ Woman... Lennon
5./ ???????
6./ Imagine... Lennon

Okay I wanted to put another McCartney tune in at number 5 on B-side, but I cant think of one, aint really a big McCartney fan, (Only just heard 1985 today on Youtube)... any suggestions ?
Also I was thinking of putting Pipes of Peace as the Finale, its a lovely song... any better ideas for the Finale (Imagine could easily "Kick Off" the album instead)
I tried to give Ringo a song and George One or Two, to be honest it could have been all Lennon, still just by doing
this I have discovered some stuff.
Also I was trying to create a kind of theme on the B-Side, with songs 2-4 about three stages of a realtionship.

How about Maybe I'm amazed, or are you not counting Wings tracks?

If you are, there should probably be room for this as well.

Everything Non Beatles is allowed... I know virtually nothing about McCartneys solo stuff, was going to put in "Give Ireland Back to The Irish" just for controversy... I will check out those tunes you mentioned.........

Yeag, "Maybe Im Amazed" was okay, and would fit in with the theme of the mid section of the B-Side, but the song was not good enough for me, and yep I had heard "Band on The Run" before, it has a great intro but weak ending for me

Would second Maybe I'm Amazed, though wouldn't call this a Wings track, pure solo Macca recorded early post Beatles split, though performed on the Wings Over America tour.

Some great solo stuff there, very underrated. Would suggest Every Night and Junk from McCartney.

Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, The Back Seat of My Car, Another Day - Ram album period.

Tomorrow-Wildlife

Little Lamb Dragonfly-Red Rose Speedway

Band on the Run-Let me Roll It

Good Night Tonight- single release

Winter Rose/Love Awake-Back to the Egg

Waterfalls-McCartney 2

Wanderlust- Tug of War

or Calico Skies, Beautiful Night- Flaming Pie.

This Never Happened Before- Chaos

Just a few suggestions, there really are a lot to choose from. This might give you a taster?
