Royal Mail Album Covers
Smess83
07-01-2010
The Royal Mail have launched a series of stamps featuring various album covers, which are;

Blur - 'Parklife'

Coldplay - 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'

David Bowie - 'The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars'

Led Zeppelin - 'IV'

Mike Oldfield - 'Tubular Bells'

New Order - 'Power, Corruption And Lies'

Pink Floyd - 'The Division Bell'

Primal Scream - 'Screamadelica'

The Clash - 'London Calling'

The Rolling Stones - 'Let It Bleed'

Which would you add ?

I was surprised there wasn't a Dire Straits one in there somewhere, possibly Brothers In Arms.

I'm surprised they used Division Bell for Pink Floyd I would have expected them to use Dark Side

I'm surprised that they haven't used Never Mind The Bollocks or a Beatles album, such as Sgt Peppers or Abbey Road. Also Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures and The Smith's Meat Is Murder.

However, I guess the Sex Pistol's might be too naughty for a stamp.

Don't get the Division Bell at all Dark Side, The Wall, Animals, Wish You, Atom Heart. All more recognizable surely

Correct about the Sex Pistols. The Beatles got a set all to themselves featuring their album covers a few years back.

Shame there's no Smiths or Stone Roses cover, or 'Dare' from the Human League. And surely Joy Division would've made a better choice than New Order...Also, not a single female artist chosen...shocking. Kate Bush or 'Dusty in Memphis' would've done the trick.

Lola Versus Powerman & The Moneygoround, The Kinks
Band on the Run or Venus & Mars, Wings
All Things Must Pass, George Harrison
Who's Next or Tommy, the Who
What's the Story (Morning Glory), Oasis
Layla, Derek & the Dominoes

All good album covers in my opinion.

I'm disgusted Michelle McManus isn't on that list.
