I think she'll suffer from over-exposure, but I can see why she's doing it. Careers in the music business can be fleeting so she wants to capitalise on her success. I think she spend the remainder of this year having a break and recording in 2011 for a release later that year.

Option 1 : Have Telephone as the last release off TFM and then leave it at least 6 months until releasing the new single/album. This will give people enough time off to crave new music from her.
Option 2 : Release a third single, maybe Dance In The Dark, off TFM and risk overexposure when she releases the new album/single only a couple of months later.
I think we weren't given enough time between Love Game and Bad Romance, which may have harmed her in some way.

^I think, since Love Game wasn't so popular, it was okay.
If she released Poker Face and Bad Romance in such a close amount of time, since they're both very popular songs, I think that would've been harmful, but I don't think Love Game will really be remembered by most people in the future.

I have to say, never has Beyonce taken a break imo. She may have a period of time where she's not released a new album but has been thrust in our faces at every opportunity and re-releases of her albums etc etc...Beyonce is on the verge of overkill also.
The thing is with Justin and Christina, they stay away they come back with something amazing and people are excited for it. With Beyonce and Gaga i don't that happening because there hasn't been a period of time where they've just disappeared from the industry altogether.

Love Game was successful in the US but i personally believe the innuendo's in the song ruined it's chances over here. The same for If you seek amy by Britney.

People are just bored of Britney as she hasn't progressed as an artist. Its like someone said in another thread. She has been singing the same style of song but with different lyrics for ten years.
Love Game would have been GaGa's 3rd UK number 1 had she not have blown its chances when she scrapped it for Paparazzi. The UK is far more acceptable of sex songs than the US is.
I heavily disagree with you about people being bored of Britney. If people were bored of her, why did so many people make her tour one of the best grossing ones of 2009 as well as give her two number 1's (womanizer and 3), a top 3 hit with circus and a top 20 with Amy.

Britney like Madonna has loyal fans. But she isn't appealing to new buyers like GaGa is and that is the problem.
The average people who bought Britney's records years ago are no longer buying them while current teens don't relate to her. This is what happens. Madonna matured her sound with her fans which made her keep static. Britney hasn't matured or even changed her sound at all. So the likes of GaGa are more appealing and exciting as they are new.

Progression doesn't mean "settle down because you've had kids".
Spears has had Pop, Dance and now more electro dance (Blackout).
If you're waiting on her releasing an acoustic album then you'll be waiting a long time because :
A) Her label won't allow it because it wouldn't sell
B) If Britney had control of her own music and she didn't use material written by other artists , 90% of the album would be dirge)

I agree with this. I appreciate about Britneys songwriters progressing for her. That's what I was touching on but I still feel her musical style has definitly changed.
You also have to ask yourself - is there a need for change and revolution? Some bands constantly evolve and release material that they , and their fans enjoy.
Some bands revolve and somehow manage to keep the soul of their songs and impress their fans (The Beatles from Blues to rock and roll to various other genres).
Some acts know that even the slightest change in their formula would result In failure - your westlife comment for example. You can't do anything with Westlife without having a backlash from their fans. Sure a few originally penned songs and some urgency (a bit like what with Take That did) wouldn't go a miss but generally in the end you risk losing popularity.
Westlife have suffered this fate where Take That have had their second number one on the trot.
Pop music is a strange thing. One artist will be slated for "always releasing the same stuff" , others will be slated for "trying something fresh when what they had worked well" and others will ask themselves : "why should I step out of my comfort zone?!?....I'm quite comfortable in here thanks!

Touching on Britney, she definately wouldn't have sung about threesomes 10 years ago but that's only because she's got older and more sexual.
Some artists get away with using the same formula on every album, which isn't very creative at all. I prefer people who can develop and change their style/songwriting etc.
